Never Again... Service was okay but staff needs improvement on up-selling and introducing selection based on unique menu items and specials (something management should train and teach on), and quality of food was so-so, but the restroom experience was less than desirable. The place was an antiquated quasi bar/diner establishment trying to come across as a trendy modernized restaurant. The interior needed some perfecting, but the restroom for the men was too small with only one commode and only one single closely placed urinal right beside it. Nasty. The toilet seat (see photo) was a small circular rounded seat (not for public usage) with slow low water pressure flushing. The toilet paper dispenser had the cheap single plied rolled paper which was glued tightly and difficult to dislodge. Someone forgot to release the paper for set up. That's poor service and lack of respect to customers and patrons. Also they use cheap toilet paper (single ply junk). The dispenser itself was metal (see picture) with cutting perforated teeth (look closely at photo) which cuts your hand when trying to grab your paper. Horrible experience and cheap. Public restrooms shouldn't be a make or break for patronizing restaurants or bars, much less retailers, but when you're visiting an establishment, trying to find happiness in eating and doing business, going to the restroom (to wash up before meal or having a visit to use it) shouldn't be a displeasing experience or regrettable one, nor should it be a difficult embarrassing ordeal. Simply put they need an upgrade and modernized update on their facilities. A cheap clasp door latch (see photo) on the men's restroom to keep someone out of the restroom isn't my ideal of a safe and secure peace of mind visit either. They can do better. Makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. I won't be back.

Traveling with last minute plans to attend a memorial service, didn’t quite know where to stop for a bite. Read the reviews and thought Evan’s Road House sounded like it would fit the bill… Not at all disappointed. The restaurant was clean, the staff friendly, and given the time of year, the decor was suitably spooky. I had been craving a burger, so the BBQ Smokehouse Burger fit the bill for me, simple burger with fried onion rings and a touch of BBQ sauce with a side of potato chips. It was cooked nicely, with adequate juiciness. Washed it down with a pint of Yuengling (an actual local brewery in this case). My traveling partner had set her sights on a steak; the 12 oz. Ribeye as rare as legal in PA was the order, with a side of mashed potatoes, fresh steamed broccoli and very clearly homemade Cole slaw satisfied that craving nicely. Now have a new spot on our cross-PA journeys along Route 80. One challenge, and not the fault of the restaurant… turning left off of the ramp from I-80 to Route 309 south is a little tricky. PennDOT could maybe help that out…

I would have kept the 5 stars with this review due to past experiences but management never responded to my email. Now this review stays permanently. I used to visit here twice a week for lunch and once a week for dinner until now. My last 2 visits was cold chili and overcooked fried ravioli. Your day cook has one job to do and it seems he's unable to do it. Note to cook, if the product is not to the minimal standards why would you serve it or expect a guest to pay money for your inability to do your job. Note to serving staff, look at the food first and if it does not meet the standard why would you ever serve it. Instead tell the cook there is no way you're serving it. The picture attached is lighter due to the flash, product was a dark brown. The initial thought I had was that the fryer oil needs changing. However, once I bit into it the cheese was dry and cooked off because the moisture was gone after being cooked too long.

Last week while up in this area. The wife and I were stopped at a red light. She just mentioned getting hungry. So I pointed and said "how about that place". Pulled in, parked, and went in. When you first enter, you see some nostalgia, some local stuff on their walls. It's part of the personality of this place. And this place has an awesome personality. We were seated and in the blink of an eye, our server was getting our drink order. I had hoped for a Miller beer (not a light, cause I'm not watching my figure, and I wasn't driving). None on tap, so I got a sierra mist, wife got a unsweetened tea. Drinks were on the table in no time, and we were placing our order. Wife got the fish and chips, I got the meatloaf with double mashed and broccoli. Order was on the table very fast. First bites for both the wife and I, we just started talking about the food. Which was, no lie, absolutely amazing. Meatloaf was served with brown gravy, but the meat itself was baked with a sweet ketchup sauce as well. I love meatloaf, and this was at the very top of the best of all time I've eaten. Mashed, real potatoes, not box. And again, delicious. Broccoli, steamed served with some butter. Complimented the rest of this awesome meal. The wife's fish and chips. A small mountain of fries comprised the chips portion. Which, the fries were even awesome. But the piece of haddock, laid on top of that mountain of fries, and covered edge to edge on a larger oval plate. Served with what tasted to be home made tartar sauce. I tasted some of the fish (and yeah, fries cause I love those things too). Wife tried the meatloaf, mashed, and broccoli. And our findings were the same. This meal was absolutely amazing. We finished, leaving small portions of what simply could not be finished. Paid the bill and left. Not even out of the parking lot, planning on a 2nd visit. This place was simply that good. When you find a gem like this, you visit as often as possible. And share the word so more people have a place to visit any given chance. I have to go back to the area this week, so I can guarantee I'll be having dinner at Evans' Roadhouse again. And be making plans on the 3rd visit...
