Tony’s Lunch was a great experience. Amazing food, unique atmosphere.

I will preface this review in that I was duped for 2 years at the Lager Jogger by an imposter “Tony’s” burger with fluff and screamer sauce. This is the original, real deal place.

They opened at 7:30 PM on Saturday. We arrived about 15 minutes early to a line about 10 people deep waiting, with more walking up as we were. The sign turned on and the door opened a few minutes after 7:30 and everyone seemed to know the routine. You walk in a pull a number as you seat yourself. They take orders in the order and come to your table. We were #8and sat for about 20 minutes before we were up. The owner took our order and when I had mentioned having had her burger at the Lager Jogger, she said “No you didn’t”, and went on to explain that someone else has tried to duplicate their sauce and burgers. She explained the process and our orders went in. I went with a screamer; a burger with their hot sauce (a recipe from the original owner of this joint, the current owner has been running it the same way for 45 years), marshmallow fluff, a slice of unmelted cheese, onions, and a dab of butter, a side a fries, and 2 chocolate milks (this is what Facebook folks suggested, it was a great choice).

Food came out quickly, under 10 minutes and it did not disappoint. Better than what I experienced from the dupe. The sauce was hot, but was countered by the fluff, a good amount of everything, good quality burger. It may not look pretty, but was amazing!

The place was packed when we walked in, but emptied out as we ate and talked. There was a steady flow of regulars; listening to them order was interesting. We were able to have a nice talk to the owner before leaving. Price seemed fine for something unique, about $10 per person.

Will most certainly be...

There's no phone number to call, a minimal web presence, and the only recorded hours of operation are recorded outside "we open late and close even later". Walk inside and you're asked to grab a number and a seat (optional). First thing you notice is all the autographed dollar bills that seem to blanket every inch of the walls of the diner. Since moving back to PA it seemed like no matter who we spoke to the question "have you had a screamer yet?" always seemed to come up. Usually followed by the statement "they put marshmallow fluff on it!" This was not the selling point to us their excitement would suggest. After listening to some of the other customers ordering getting a burger or cheese burger with everything was the way to go. Our waitress called our number and came our way after a quick wave. I asked what was "everything" on a burger. Screamer sauce, onions, butter, and fluff was the answer. My wife asked for lettuce and tomato and was politely informed that they don't have that there. We had a collective laugh as we were reminded we're living in the coal region now! I took the shot and ordered one screamer with everything, along with a hotdog (just in case). Food arrived, we ate and then I ordered two more screamers with everything. P.S. the Screamer burger is even good the...

Having read about this place years ago, I am so excited that I finally got to try it! Google said it was closed today, but yelp indicated it is currently open Thursday and Friday, so I decided to head over. And it was so worth it! This is the true definition of a local's spot. The owner knew many of the people by name. She was very friendly and helpful in giving us suggestions, which I promptly took. The screamer with fluff works so well - it's the perfect balance of sweet and heat. You get an absolutely enormous portion of fries with your order, too. I love their system of taking a number and, when they are ready to serve you, they take your order and bring it out in a matter of minutes. I cannot say enough good about this place - other than it's sadly a dying breed in this age of constant...
