We went Sunday evening at 6PM, 10/16/22. We had been in the area and decided to eat at the Villa as I had not been there in a while. When we arrived the place was full to capacity with a lengthy wait, so if you plan to do Sunday dinner there make a reservation. We were told 45 minutes until our table was ready, and it was exactly that, no issue. Now the hard part, and it saddens me to write some of this, I hope it is used as a learning tool, and some of it is opinionated. Obviously, we knew the place was crazy packed, and we knew there would be delays (yes, we had the option to leave and go elsewhere). After being seated it was a good 20 minutes (and that might be a generous assumption) before a waitress engaged us. However, once she did, things flowed a little more smoothly (and again this is a generous statement). I will preface this conclusion by stating the waitress, and waitstaff as a whole were doing all they could, and I mean hustling, all of them. Of course (due to the crowd) the drinks, salads, and bread all arrived at a noticeable delay. This was more noticeable as our 6-year-old daughter was growing increasingly hungry and inpatient. From the time we checked in until the time the actual meals arrived nearly 2 hours has passed, maybe even longer. However, once the food arrived (finally) it was good, warm, and plentiful. Again, I commend the waitress, and the entire team.
Now the observation piece: As mentioned, make sure you have a reservation at peak times, I won't make that mistake again, esp. on Sunday. I am glad the villa is open and killing it! After glancing the room over, beings I had time to carefully do so, it appeared there were multiple large, and in some cases too large (IMO) of parties the staff and place could handle (esp. at this time). So where the disconnect lies is a tough call, I understand turning business away is unacceptable but taking on more than you can handle puts the customer on the back burner. Our server was definitely struggling with one of these large parties thus setting the rest of her tables FAR behind, and because of the crowd no help was available to her. Please remember before you decide to take all 15-20 people out to dinner you risk putting the entire place (including staff, other patrons, parking, all of it) behind tremendously. I absolutely recognize many places are still short staffed, they did all...
Read moreI always liked coming here, the food is good and its nearby! Me and my husband would come here for valentines day. This year i was quite disappointed with the service though, our waitress didnt let me finish what i wanted on my salad before she took off, i asked her many times what came on the salad so i could tell her my preferences. She ended up walking away before i could finish and ended up with a whole bunch of junk on it, the only thing i got to tell her was the dressing i wanted, and ignored my question of what all comes on it and walked away. And that very same day there was a hostess at front desk on her phone and in a belly shirt?! That is extremely unprofessional and i am not even old fashioned i am only 28 but it was very distrubing, I was there with my neice and husband. Who wants to go out to eat on valentines day and see a girl not fully clothed while they are out to dinner. If she is at a work place on valentines day she shouldnt be trying to dress like shes at the club trying to pick up men. I am sure i am not the only person that was uncomfortable with this. She was a young blonde girl. I feel she shoulda been wearing the same thing everyone else was, or at least something presentable. Especially being a hostess (i believe this is what she was) the hostess is the FIRST thing you see when walking into a restaurant, which is important running a business. And when i came in i see a young girl wearing a red belly shirt bent over the front desk on her cell phone. I was uncomfortable immediatley when walking in. I feel if you are at work you shouldnt be worried about dressing revealing or trying to pick up men, ESPECIALLY not on valentines day where people are bringing their significant others out to dinner to enjoy themselves in a comfortable romantic atmosphere only to have it disturbed by a young girl dressing provocative to seek attention. I am still trying to understand why she wasnt asked to wear something more professional, or why she wasnt sent home for violating some sort of dress code. Other than that the food is always...
Read moreThis is perhaps one of the most unusual reviews I've ever given. It's unusual but very honest.
The service was exemplarily. Second to none. The waitress not only was very attentive to our needs, but she had foreseen things and was a step ahead of us (for example, she knew we would need boxes so she brought them over even before we had a chance to ask for them). She answered our questions accurately and she got our order exact. Mind you, the restaurant was extremely busy (Sunday for dinner).
Food was fresh and served hot. Food was homemade. Great taste.
In spite of the place being very busy, it was clean and tidy.
I found 2 downsides, however.
The portion sizes are way too huge and wasteful. There were 4 of us at our table. The one couple purchased an Italian sampler; they shared a dinner between both of them. Not only did this one dinner feed them both, they took home a lot.
I had a "mini" sized portion of lasagna. The mini size was served on a full dish (and the dish wasn't small either). In other words, the mini was huge. I ate half of the lasagna but I don't like leftover lasagna so I had to dispose of the other half.
I've dined at places across America and I can honestly say I've never seen such large portion sizes before. Very wasteful; its enough for me not to be a repeat customer. Consider this: I threw away half of my dinner. The dinner was great, but wasteful and I therefore wasted some of my money.
There are no handicapped parking spaces (as required by ADA law). I am a person with disabilities and it was difficult to park. But, this in itself would not keep me away from...
