Chubby's of Baton — Restaurant in Cajah's Mountain

I know this is a local favorite, and my opinion will not be popular, but I am going to be honest. The youth that are working the counter are awesome, friendly, and seem to know what is going on. The only issue is with the food, I ordered the date night combo pepperoni pizza with two side salads and a personal pepperoni pizza with a side of fries for my son. It took quite a while to come out from the kitchen. I am not sure why because I am sure the pizza was pre-made. It was a To-go order when we got home. we found the frys were still froze and the pizza was thoroughly cooked but cold in the center. In other words, the cheese was melted and had a nice golden top where it was at some point cooked, but had been either sitting somewhere for a long time or stored in the fridge. Working in the retail business for the last 25 years I definitely know what it's like when at the last 15 minutes of your day you're trying to clean up and organize things and get ready for your day tomorrow however I also know what it's like to take care of any customer at the last minute of the day if not the first minute of the day. These young ladies at this establishment not only took care of me from my long travel from Burlington to arrive 10 minutes before closing, but they also did it with a smile and graciousness and said they were more than happy to take care of me. I love eating at Chubby's!! I have just recently tried their 8 inch meatball sub, and it is to die for!! They bake their bread fresh every day, and it is very soft. And the meatballs...mmmmmm. Yummy. They taste fresh. And then when I take a bite of bread, meatball, and the ooy-gooey cheese, it is so delicious and yummy. I like their salads, too. Even their small side salad comes with meat. Their fries are really good--not greasy at all. And they are the crinkle cut fries, which I absolutely love. I'll be going back to Chubby's to try other things.
