I recently visited The Coffee House with a party of 10, and our experience was far from pleasant. Upon arrival, we noticed the only available table that could accommodate our group had some items on it. Despite standing near the table for a few minutes, no one greeted us. When my mom approached to check the seating, a staff member rudely shouted, “Wait till we clean that table up.” We complied and waited, but then were abruptly told not to block the door. Finally, the table was cleared, but the staff member didn’t even inform us—it wasn’t until we saw the seats had been prepared (except three were still closed due to a leak in which we didn’t mind getting a little wet) that we sat down.
When the waitress finally came over, she pointed out the “closed” sign on the seats as if we were illiterate, despite us simply trying to make do with our party amount. Her tone was condescending and unprofessional, which was especially disheartening given that our group was diverse, with Hispanic and American members. Professionalism should transcend any biases, and we were left feeling unwelcome and disrespected.
When my mom, trying to keep things positive, asked the waitress how she was, the waitress rudely responded with, “What can I get you to drink?” and rolled her eyes. The drinks were then brought to our table by another server who slammed them down and tossed the straws onto the table. It was clear that they were not interested in serving us.
Eventually, after waiting to see if they would take our food order and being ignored, my mom decided we should leave. She asked to pay for the drinks, but the staff rudely told her, “You don’t have to pay anything, just leave.”
As someone who has worked in the service industry, I understand that everyone has bad days, but this behavior was completely unacceptable. The lack of professionalism was astonishing, and it’s unfortunate that they missed out on a large party’s business.
To avoid such an experience, I urge the management to address this issue and ensure better training for their staff. We ended up going to another restaurant nearby, where the service was outstanding—greeted with smiles, attentive service, and overall a much better experience. This is the standard that should be...
Read moreAbsolutely the WORST experience I have ever had at this location. 2nd shift had one waitress that seemed as if she had adult A.D.D. or maybe just very forgetful. The only other employee on duty was the cook. SLOW! This dude cooks one order at a time. Not one ticket, one order. I watched him myself. There were four plates ordered on my ticket with about five tickets ahead of mine. It was 52 minutes before we received our order, of which 3 out of the 4 plates varied from cold to luke-warm, the only hot plate being the last order on the ticket. They have an add in the News Topic needing cooks and servers on 2nd and 3rd shifts. Personally, I think that they need to hire 4 servers and 2 cooks. (2 servers and 1 cook for 2nd shift to replace the cook and server that were working on my last visit) and whatever needs to be hired on 3rd shift to bring the total to 2 servers and 1cook. That is all they need for those two shifts to handle the light volume during those hours. The key here is to hire DEPENDABLE, COMPETENT and CONFIDENT cooks that can cook an entire ticket at one time and not one plate at a time and servers who are inspired to provide excellent service to gain more generous tips. Your best bet for adequate staff and service is to visit during the 1st shift hours. Coffee House, do yourselves a great favor and check references and backgrounds and test the competency level of your new hire. Your business will suffer losses if you don't. After waiting for too long, a couple got up and left before their food ever arrived. The waitress didn't even know they left your restaurant. She was clueless and left their order on the table for over an hour. Your store lost out money on a cheeseburger, fries and a drink on one plate and a double cheeseburger, fries and a drink on the other plate plus the drink refill each had gotten. If I knew my order was gonna take 52 minutes to get, we would have left as well, sticking you with another loss (of $43.76 just on my bill). You need a Manager ON SITE...
Read moreWe went in at approximately 10:40pm on Saturday, September 1. We had to wait about 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order, and that was after the waitress kept checking customers out then carried food to tables and came to our table WITHOUT ever washing her hands after handling all that money.
The carpet in the restaurant is filthy and the interior looks dirty and rundown overall. We received our food and had to eat it quickly because it was so cold inside it was miserable, not to mention the side by side ceiling fans throughout that are constantly blowing cold air on your food. My husband had a western omelette and said it was good. I ordered the boss burger and it wasn’t good. I only ate about a quarter of it because the bread was so soggy it was disgusting. It just didn’t have a good flavor, like I remember them having before. I had hash browns with it and they weren’t cooked completely and were mushy and soft.
Overall, it was a terrible...
