Unfortunately, I would give no stars if I could. Went for dinner last night with my husband and 2 children. The sign said to seat ourselves, so we found a clean table and sat down. It was definitely busy (holiday weekend) but that was to be expected. Watched another party arrive and they were greeted and served drinks. Then a large party sat at a dirty table next to us; a different waitress cleared and cleaned the entire table as they were sitting there, then proceeded to serve them their drinks. Once the same thing happened with a THIRD table, we decided to leave. Three waitresses served three other tables and no one even acknowledged we were there. No hello, no menus, no “be right with you” just...nothing. To be honest, I was a little shocked as this has never happened to me at a restaurant before. We love to support local businesses and were looking forward to eating at Smokey’s as we are aware there are new owners. Disappointed is an understatement, and I hate to say that we will...
Read moreParty of 3; we went on a Sunday. Not busy at all, seated ourselves. They were out of chicken and the fish is frozen. So I went with the steak. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer. (I personally don't eat them, but the other two said there were good). Soup of the day was barley? One person liked it the other didn't. (Don't ask me; I don't like barley soup) There was an order of french onion soup. Apparently this is a touch and go soup. The party ordering it said first time, great; second time terrible, but opted for a third time and said it was great. Other party ordered the shrimp. Said it was good. My steak was good. The mashed potatoes and gravy was ok. Gravy is probably "packaged". Seemed to have a lot of sodium in it (Salty). Thought it was just me, but was told by the other parties they thought was salty last time they had ordered it. From the reviews I've read and from members of our own party. The food is hit and miss. I wouldn't go out of my way for it. But if you're in the...
Read moreI ordered fish and chips with a side salad and some smoked mac & cheese. The waitress was unsure if they still had smoked mac & cheese they didn’t however, I receive regular mac & cheese instead.
Which is fine. The waitress was just trying to make sure I got what I ordered. When I came to pick up my food, I walked up to the bar and said hi. I have a carry out order for Tim and the lady behind the counter said oh cool and sat there scoffing at the other employee behind the bar to go get my food.
To be honest, it’s not the same Smokies anymore. I do not think I’ll be back unfortunately. Messing up an order is one thing, but being flat out rude. Do a customer when you walk up to ask for your food is another.
I’ve worked in the service industry for 15 years. You’re not supposed to be rude customers like that. I understand everybody has a bad day but it’s been every time I’ve went to the new Smokies not to mention today is...
