The service is poor. You seat yourself and they come to take your order. After that, they don't come back. However, I still leave tips. The food is not hot in temperature and seems to be always room temperature. No matter what it is. The partion sizes are very small. Say if you get baked beans, you will only get about 3 tablespoons. The problem with this restaurant are the prices of the food. I would get the "Hot Hamburger" plate. It's an bun, hamburger patty and gravy. Since I'm a vegetarian, I get it without the meat with fries and baked beans. Well, the price for a one patty hot hamburger on the menu say $9.99. My spouse is also a vegetarian and he would get the same or equivalent of the same. Like instead of a" hot hamburger ", he would get a grilled cheese sandwich. The prices changes every single time. However, the price of our visit is always $30 and up. About four years ago they would charge me only $4 for my hot hamburger plate with fries. Now, it's $15 and up for 1 bun, fries and 1 small scoop of baked beans?? No, it's not worth it. Not to mention, my sister's experience last year with her bitting down on a TOOTH that was in the fried green tomatoes!!! I would have sued. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but with the food being bland, poor service and the ridiculous prices, it's safe to say I won't be eating here ever again. That's actually really sad to say, because I've been eating here since it was " The Briefeild Cafe". That's a long time. Things went down hill when the management changed a few years ago. I would forgive all if it didn't cut into my pockets like it does. My whole family stopped eating here because of the tooth incident, but not me. I wanted to support local restaurants. We don't have many. However, things need to change if they want to be successful. I wish them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing experience! This was our first visit to Boondocks but will certainly not be our last. We arrived shortly before noon on Saturday. There were several open tables. By the end of our meal, people were waiting to be seated. This food is top notch!
We started with an appetizer of Twisted Fried Green Tomatoes. These are thinly sliced green tomato spirals that are battered in cornmeal and deep fried. Served with Ranch Dressing dipping sauce. This was a delightful twist on a southern favorite!
Meals were Boom Boom Fries (fries topped with pulled pork, bbq sauce, shredded cheese and jalapeños. Half Hot Hamburger which is a substantial burger patty topped with cheese, grilled onions and gravy on half of a hamburger bun. Served with one side (fried okra was the choice). And a Rib Plate which was a generous portion of bbq ribs served with two sides⦠(choice was baked beans and slaw).
Everything was delicious. It is rare to find a meal such as this where everything was spot on, but that was the case here! Food was freshly prepared, service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. We look forward to our...
