Coyote Cafe has something really really good going for it: The Customer Service. Wow, is the customer service amazing. The wait staff is incredible - everyone involved has pride in their jobs and seems to truly enjoy interacting with their customers and finding something in common or something to relate to to talk about. I dont think theres any other place ive been to in any other state where i enjoyed that part of the experience more. I will 1000% be back here for the customer service alone.
I had the Country Fried Steak. It came with 2 eggs (I ordered over easy), toast (sourdough), and hashbrowns. Something to keep in mind, is that nothing is seasoned with salt and pepper prior to arriving at your table. So I'm considering these dishes both before and after being seasoned.
The Country Fried Steak was really really good. It was just crispy enough, just original enough to be memorable. It was moist, but crunchy where it needed to be. The gravy was next level Just the right texture, just the right thickness. An extremely solid experience.
The eggs were a bit off. I can't quite explain why, but they tasted really watery; like maybe the skillet was majority oil, and didn't get enough cook. Maybe it's the over easy order style, but the egg white itself didn't feel quite cooked through. Overall though, a really nice dip for the sourdough toast when salted.
The hashbrowns were really boring. Again, somehow taste really watery, despite having a deep brown crisp to the bottom layer. I'm not quite sure what happened here, but it really felt waterlogged and flavor-less - even after adding the salt and pepper myself.
The coffee was really fun. I think the mugs are the same as waffle house without the logo, but the coffee is MILES better. For a diner and presumably mass produced coffee, Coyote Cafe has near perfect diner coffee.
I will be going back for sure. I don't think I'll order the same thing, but I do think the Country Fried Steak is worth it to try. I'd like to explore this menu to its fullest, because based on what I experienced, I just know that there's something on the menu that will...
Read moreWe are working out here in California for a brief time. We were looking for a good breakfast restraunt. We found Cyote Cafe. We go every Sunday. The food was great alot for your money and the service phenomenal. But the last 3 weeks don't know if they got a new cook or what cause potatoes are hard and you say no peppers and onions and they add extra peppers and onions, the bacon is so crisp hard you feel like your cracking your teeth, the dippy eggs have no dip they are completely cooked, thus week the regular waitress wasn't there I order the same food every week knew stuff was missing asked 3 times until I double checked the bag on counter before leaving missing half the food I ordered they told me it was in the microwave. Until they get a new cook or kitchen staff and the regular waitress comes back she's the cute waitress with her nails always done we will not be going back. The food is horrible now...
