Black Rose Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in California

Overall, the coffee was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it. I’m not a hugeeee peanut butter fan, but jeez, the ecstasy drink was amazing. Other coffee places generally have too harsh of a coffee flavor in their blended drinks, or the flavor is far far farrr too sweet to really enjoy. The worst is when they “blend” the drink up, when in reality all of the flavor and sugar is sitting at the bottom of the drink in a lump of caramel. I mean it when I say this drink I got was a 10/10 on every aspect. The coffee flavor is strong at first, and then you taste the peanut butter and sweetness with no bitter coffee after-taste. This drink was so delicious it had me scraping the peanut butter off the sides with my straw and slurping up every last bit of that taste. I will no longer be going to Starbucks, Kaleidoscope, or Dutch Bros. Seriously, never again as long as I have access to this coffee place. Whatever you guys do to make that coffee, keep doing it cause me and my boyfriend love it. My one complaint is that the lady I asked which drink was most popular kept only saying caramel, and the other kinda seemed irritated to explain anything else other than what was written on the menu itself. Good quality bean, proper brew temperature (I can always taste scorched bean, and the difference between roast-scorch and brew-scorch), not ridiculously strong (so I got all the flavor without the acid bitterness of most places). I'll definitely stop there any time I have to slog out to extreme NE Redding.

Wish they had one in Red Bluff. In the right spot, y'all could force one of our Starbuck's to close, which would be a tremendous public service.

Had to change my review. Saturday (5/20/22) we pulled up to the window at 4:57pm and were told we couldn't place an order because they closed at 5pm. Even after we told the girl that we had driven up from Red Bluff AND only wanted plain hot coffee (as opposed to a blended drink that takes a little time to make), she got all smug and smiley while chanting (yes, "chanting" in a sarcastic little sing-song voice!) "maybe you should call in your order next time!".

I would usually give Black Rose 5 stars as they have excellent products and the employees are top notch! HOWEVER I believe some attention is needed in regards to the “Protein Box”. Enclosed is a cheese stick wrapped with salami or pepperoni, 2 hard boiled eggs, both of these items were ok, I ate them as I am “lazy keto” and I was hungry, lol! The apples and carrots that was included In the box were awful, apples soft and mushy, carrots looked old, I had to throw them away. Absolutely Not worth $7.50, I would not recommend and will not purchase again. Everything else is awesome, love the milk house keto friendly sweets!! 6/30/21 update: BR has slipped in my book, staff with tude, like I was wasting her time. I’ll go elsewhere.
