3rd time picking up food, each time the order was not correct, nor was the food ready to go when promised. On Mother's day I phoned in my order for a #14 & a #19 large pazza, plus a large antipasto salad. I intend to feed 6 adults and 2 young children. As always the order was not ready 30+ minutes after I called it in. The girl who took my order had difficulty on the phone, so I had her read the order back to me, as I suspected she was not on the ball. She repeated my oder. When they finally presented the food it was one #14 pizza, one small antipasto salad & one order of marinara sauce spaghetti. The pizza was ok, the salad had ranch dressing dumped all over it, (I wanted Italian,) the bread was just a plain roll cut in half and the spaghetti was just industrial Italian noodles with unseasoned, flavorless canned crushed tomato sauce. I was under a time constraint so after trying to get a resolution I finally paid and took the most disappointing Italian meal I've had since the 6th grade school cafeteria. I ended up buying a 2nd pizza in Campo to feed my family. When I mentioned to the people I was providing the food for how poor my Bongiovanni's experience was they were not surprised and said Bong's had gone way down hill and the wait staff & kitchen staff were the new norm for incompetence. These seasoned East San Diego residents suggested Marechiaro's Italian Restaurant. I will not be returning to...

I would normally not post something like this, but I know a lot of East County people eat here and I feel like this needs to be said.

An entire family’s disappointment…

This is not because our food was horrible… which it was! (Burnt pizza, over cooked chicken, salty artichokes, unclean and chemical tasting lettuce, and salty eggplant)

This is not because our reservation wasn’t honored… which it wasn’t! (Booked the game room for a large party with kids, but it was written down incorrectly and we ended up in the main dinning area)

This is not because our party of 30+ people was only given 1 server… that was it! (But management did nothing to even assist, just stood there leaning on the counter watching us)

This is because, even after us conceding to all of the above, the servers had the audacity to speak poorly about our party right in front of us. And when the manager was approached about it, she not only acted very aloof about the situation, but then engaged in the “smack talk” with the same staff members in front of other members of our party.

We have came here as a family for decades, always enjoyed the food, staff and atmosphere. Tonight, we’re completely disappointed and insulted. This place has gone really downhill and we will not be...

Our waitress came over and took our order for a large pizza, and we never saw her again until we had to ask for a refill on the soda. She was too busy visiting with the other Waitresses coming in to start their job. We had to ask for larger plates for our large pizza. we had to ask for one refill she never offered too busy talking to coworkers. The pizza took 35 minutes to cook, and it was over cooked. we could not cut the crust with the knife or the serrated knife that they bring with the pizza. It was over cooked by about seven minutes. She did come and ask how it was and we told her it was over cooked and hard. She didn’t say anything or do anything about it. Never offered us a glass of soda or water to go before we left. Brought the check and walked away. Never said anything about making us another pizza, Or anything to accommodate us. That’s absolutely horrible business...

Awesome, awesome place! Great for families and groups! They have a Banquet room for big parties with sports TV's, so those who hate missing the game due to family obligations (like my husband) don't have to. Lol. It is our family and friend's family's "go to" when we eat out together. They also have a great bar where they don't skimp on the good stuff. My husband loves to wait there for our take out orders...but don't tell anyone that part Lol Due to being a bit off of the beaten path, it is rarely very crowded and there is plenty of easy parking. Interesting and yummy appetizer's, loaded pizza's, huge antipasto salad's, great sandwiches and tasty pasta with both red and white sauce. The best garlic bread too, especially if you like sesame seed French bread like I do. There is also a more intimate dining room and a patio. Great place!

I really like the location and the restaurant was empty, but that didn't last long. The calamari strips were different, but in a good way. The calamari was thick and flat, no tentacles (which are my favorite)... But I enjoyed it. The bread was great also. The Ceasar salad was well over dressed and had the obvious taste of a jar... It was satisfactory because I've had much worse. The lasagna was good and had a nice flavor, but I wondered if I had been frozen. As for the restaurant, it is desperate need of a renovation... The table cloths are so ugly and the artificial plants have layers of dust, which if you're at a booth they're immediately next to you. All in all, if go back, but with outside seating

I started going when I was little with my dad. We would go to play the Simpsons Arcade Game, which is still alive and running! Only 25 cents for 2 life's! Anyways I had a glass of wine, iced tea, and half n half ravioli/spaghetti. Which came with bread and an amazing salad. My girlfriend had never been here beforehand but heard they're pepperoni pizza is to die for, which it was. I wish I knew our servers name, but she was super sweet and made sure we had everything at every stage of the meal. Not to mention when my last nite of salad was taken the food immediately came after. Good job Bongiovannis.
