I've swung by this food truck a few times now, and it's been a hit or miss experience. The burger left much to be desired - lacking sauce and not made to order, it's a definite skip. However, when it comes to their fish and chips, this place truly shines! The fish is perfectly battered and fried, and the thick-cut chips are a delightful twist on the classic. Don't miss out on the stellar onion rings either; the tartar sauce is on point!

Be prepared for varying wait times; while fish and chips seem to get priority, other items may take longer. The location in the middle of a parking lot offers ample space, and there are a few tables with umbrellas if you prefer to dine outside, although eating in your car is likely.

Keep an eye out for their sporadic hours - they're usually closed on weekends. Look for the big "Open" flag, as there's not many other indications of their status.

We arrived to Redwood Valley a little earlier than planned. While we were waiting to check in at our hotel, we decided to look for a place to eat. We were SO happy to find Captain Deez! We pulled up and found a super cute food truck with painted picnic tables & umbrellas. My husband and I ordered the fish tacos with a side of fries - huge portions and food was delicious! Our little one ordered a burger & fries and our food server (who was SO nice) hooked him up with some airplane glider kits and offered a capri sun on the house. Great customer service and yummy food! If you're driving through Redwood Valley, you definitely need to go check out...

Perfect dining experience for travelers on the go -- near an exit on Highway 101. The staff were extremely friendly and the food came out quick. The ingredients were rich and plentiful. I got the chicken tacos and it came with 2 tacos that were very filling. The taste was 10/10 ... fresh ingredients, served with a slice of lemon (very nice), and a mango sauce. Also, the meal was affordable. I am going to come back here next...
