It's nice that it's a family owned shop, but I am definitely seeing the disadvantage of leaving a couple of your kids (14 & 12 year old) to run the shop.
Their service is slow and although the twelve your old boy was polite (cute as a button he is), the girl is melancholy and I can tell that she doesn't really know how to give customer service.
I'm willing to accept that this is their first job, so they're learning. I certainly hope their folks train them better soon, and start expanding their team with more experienced baristas.
I do like this shop though. Their drinks are high quality and I like how they heat their muffins. It has a homey atmosphere with their lounge area consisting of a couch and some soft chairs with a wide screen TV to watch some programs while you're hanging out with your coffee. This place is brand new so I'm certain that they're still in the process of decorating. I hope they can post some paintings in picture frames to brighten up the place and give it a more inviting atmosphere. Now it kind of looks like a prison cell but...
