I debated about posting a review here. I hate to be negative and give people who are running a business a hard time, but today we had lunch here and it was unacceptably dirty inside the restaurant. I'm hoping the owner sees this review and corrects the problem. We checked Google reviews before we stopped here, because this place has been closed for years, and was suddenly open again. Seems like the place got new owners so we decided to give it a try. The service was friendly, the food was just ok, but the inside of the restaurant was dirty, and I mean it hasn't been cleaned in months, if not years. I used a wet wipe to clean the table we were sitting at, and it was so dirty the wet wipe turned black. As in, the table wasn't dirty from other people eating at it, it literally hasn't been wiped down since they reopened. The floor was filthy, again enough dirt to indicate it hasn't been mopped in months. We peeked into the kitchen while ordering our food, and yeah, I was a little concerned about eating there after looking around. Our food was ok, but certainly not anything special. I love the old-fashioned cheeseburger stands, I'm ok with the building being old and worn out and things looking banged up and used. But we were pretty disappointed in the condition of the restaurant and even though we pass by this place every weekend on our way to Sloughhouse... I wouldn't eat here again unless they do a major overhaul on the cleaning and maybe get a better quality beef...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreApparently new ownership. The previous owners maintained what the original owners did and it was good. On my first trip in under new ownership I looked over the menu and wanted a Club Sandwich my wife wanted a burger and fries. She also loved the shakes they make there but the first thing the menu says is "Ice Cream Machine Down." So, no shake as far as the Club Sandwich goes, they were out of ham and turkey. New ownership and trying to build business. My ice cream machine would be a priority and I would have ingredients for everything I make even if I have to hit the deli counter at the local grocery store so I have what I need. I owned a restaurant and even gave the previous owners stuff from my restaurant. The burger wasn't bad but not at all what they were. It seemed smaller/thinner and a lot drier. The fries were the same, a bit over salted though So being a former customer and stopping in after the ownership change will also be our last. It's not that the food was really bad. I look at as a new owner who is making changes the customer won't notice. I wish them the best. Watch your quality, keep supplies on hand. The worst thing you can say is we are out, that will cost you money...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped at the Countryside drive in for the first time. I wanted a burger but didnāt want franchise fast food. Ordered the double cheese burger, and was pleasantly surprised. Everyone complains about the price of food these days, and Iām no different, however, for my $11.75, I think this cheese burger was worth it. The bag was heavy. On a large sesame seed bun, sat two large beef patties, Iād say about 1/3 lb each before cooking. They were perfectly medium, without asking, with slight pink inside. Just how I like it. The patties didnāt look like pre-pressed frozen patties, they looked almost hand formed. I know thatās not likely, but from an old road side burger stand, it was darn good! I was starving and it was so big I couldnāt finish it. Nice beef flavor and āspecial sauceā š! Next time Iāll just get a single with fries. This side of an $18 restaurant smash burger, this is a...
