I have dined here for breakfast on 3 occasions within the last 2 months. I'll combine the 3 visits into this review.
Beverages. The tap water in Lemoore has a foul taste due to natural contaminants in addition to the added chlorine. This fact can be confirmed online. Coyote Grill does NOT filter their water, so all of the fountain drinks, and any drink using municipal water, have an absolutely DREADFUL taste. They offer bottled water and bottled cola, which I HIGHLY suggest you ask for.
Food. Much of it was good/okay but I'll focus on the problem items I experienced. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which was topped with a biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was obviously not made fresh on site. It was quite stale and tasted like it came from a bag of frozen biscuits that was shipped from many states away. I brought up the staleness, and the waitress quickly replaced it with toast, which was actually quite good. The omelettes are generally good, but the mushrooms were canned, and that ruined this particular omelette. The other omelette ingredients were acceptable. The country potatoes were NOT good at all. They had a rubbery texture and tasted like they were heated in a microwave, again from a frozen bag, shipped from a distant location. The hash browns were okay (though frozen as well). Ultimately they are relying too much on frozen/premade products. I realize the use of frozen ingredients is commonplace in the restaurant industry, but in this case the food quality is really suffering from it. To be fair many of the menu items are good.
Service. The service is barely adequate. They take the order, deliver the food, come back to check the table once, maybe two times, before dropping off the check.
Prices. The prices are reasonable with most entrees ranging from $7 to $12. [Edit] They also do not charge sales tax due to being on tribal land.
Summary. I would have rated at one star but increased it to two because, the price and service are fair, and in general the restaurant and kitchen (from what I could see) appear clean. The poor food and horrible beverage quality is what earned the poor rating. I recommend dining elsewhere until management corrects...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Tachi Palace Casino and if it wasn't for the staff and wonderful food at Coyote Grill, we wouldn't make another trip down here. Let's start out with our first day. After mass confusion with the security team and restaurant management we finally got the ok to bring our own bottle of wine for dinner. Our waitress Xochitl was our saving grace and the best waitress ever. She was very nice and very knowledgeable. I thought we finally hit the jackpot but it wasn't over. Then came the hot bread with a garlic season. This was a perfect fit with our bottle of wine. Next came the Harris Ranch Filet. This steak was to die for. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. After the first day we could help ourselves. We had to do our second visit to make sure the first one wasn't a fluke. No surprise, it was exactly the same and perfect. We also got to meet another good waiter, Christian. This young man is an up and coming star when he gets his wine poring skills perfected. Keep it up Christian, great job! Last but not least, you have to give props to the manager Carmen. These two are under her supervision and it shows that she is doing a great job! I wanted to get a pic of the steak, but it was too good to wait for a snap shot. So here's a pic of that awesome house made bread. Enjoy folks, this is a...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and had a mixed experience. To start with the positives—the service was commendable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and prompt, making sure we were comfortable throughout our meal.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the same standard. The Tomahawk steak, which I was particularly looking forward to, turned out to be one of the worst I’ve had. It was incredibly dry, and the flavor was noticeably off—definitely a letdown for a cut that’s supposed to be the centerpiece of any steakhouse experience. On a better note, the crab cake was decent. While it didn’t blow me away, it had a good texture and seasoning that made it enjoyable. What really surprised me, though, was the charge for an extra plate. This is the first restaurant I’ve encountered that adds a fee for something so basic. It felt unnecessary and left a bad...
