My wife and I love coming out to Apple Hill in Placerville, and anytime we go, we always have to make a stop at Drew Beans Farms for lunch. The first time we visited, my wife ordered the pot pie, and I ordered the hot pastrami. Her pot pie was good. Great comfort food. My hot pastrami was delicious. I always like to try Reuben sandwiches or pastrami sandwiches whenever they're on the menu, so I had to try the hot pastrami here, and glad I did. It's not your typical pastrami sandwich. The meat is cut really thin, and it's served on a sourdough roll. It's not hard but toasted for a nice crunch in every bite. Comes with the usual pickles, mustard, and lettuce, but the bread really makes this sandwich. My wife typically doesn't like hot sandwiches, but she loves the hot pastrami. She loves it so much during our most recent visit she ordered one herself. We've also tried their raspberry cream cheese pie. Soooo good. Funny story, my former boss used to order a bunch of pies from here. They would come frozen, and you just heat them up. Didn't know that this was the place, and now we can just come here and get it ourselves. The ambiance is super chill and laid back. The staff are really nice and friendly. Each time we've been here, the owner stops by our table to check on us. Can't beat that kind of customer service. You can dine inside or outside on benches and tables. They also have fire pits around to just hang out. If you want to have some alcohol, they have a bar outside where you can order beer and wine. Didn't try any of that, but next time we come here, I want to have lunch and just hang out to enjoy the place. If you're ever in the Placerville area, make sure you stop by Drew Beans Farm for lunch and try their pies. You won't be sorry. Highly recommend this place.

What a hidden gem of a place! Wish I could give more than 5 stars! This place used to be Bodhaine Ranch which sold those most amazing homemade pies. We purchased a Dutch apple pie and hope it will be just as tasty. So, we came here for pie and to our surprise, the place was unrecognizable, in a great way! Drew Bean Farms has it all...great food, excellent service, classy country atmosphere, and tons of beautifully situated seating inside and out. They offered a variety of on tap and canned beers as well as a nice wine selection. The place is kid and pet friendly. There's just a ton of cozy spots to enjoy your meal and/or just sit and relax. We met the owner Drew who was so personable and welcoming and he made his rounds talking with patrons and ensuring folks were having a nice time. We shared a hot pastrami and ordered a couple of tap IPAs and decided we want to try the chicken pot pie next time. We cannot wait to return here with friends and family!!

A new favorite for us on Apple Hill! We visited early on a Sunday morning and appreciated how chill Drew Bean Farms was! They also have real food, restaurant style, which is harder to find amongst a sea of bakery-only farms. This farm is a great place to go if you want more of an adults oriented farm, which we really liked. It’s dog friendly(outdoors only, because foodservice) which is great. If you’re bouncing from farm to farm on a weekend, get your big meal at Drew Bean! We never visited when it was Bodhaines, but really love what the new owners have done and their presence on Apple Hill is welcome!

Hate leaving a bed review but perhaps they'll take notes and create a better experience. New owners, nicely renovated - the two stars are purely for the lawn (watch your kids, because if they walk too far, employees come and rudely kick them out - maybe put up a sign to show people where the lawn turns into a private area? Simple fix). Service was chaotic and unwelcoming. Literally not a single employee smiled. We ordered 2 beers & an individual pot pie, plus a slice of pie to go, for $51. Ouch. Thank goodness we didn't buy the $12 hot dog. Received the pot pie 20 minutes later - nothing else. It was partially burnt and partially undercooked, with a decent flavor but the filling was 50% whole baby carrots. We had to go back and ask for our drinks, and finally got them after half an hour, about 80% full. Asked for the pie and was told it was coming. Ten minutes later, no pie. Asked again. Ten minutes later, got the wrong type of pie and it wasn't in a to-go box. Would've left but the pie had an ingredient I can't eat. Asked again. Finally got the right pie after more than an hour. It was so heavy on cinnamon we didn't end up wanting to eat it after all that! Having been in the restaurant business for years, I know how far it goes to simply say sorry, and ask someone how to make things right. Instead we were treated as though we were the problem. There's no universe where I want to overpay for lackluster food while being treated poorly. After many happy visits with the prior owners, we will never go back. However, great place for tourists who want an apple hill "experience" and...

We go to Apple Hill every year with our family! We stop at Bodhaine to get my dads favorite sour cream apple pie and take our yearly picture on the hay stacks. Well they removed the hay stacks so no more annual photo :( We pull in parking lot was crazy. People were parked all over the place. I park my vehicle I wasn’t blocking the crosswalk or any cars. Some guy comes out and says is this your vehicle I said yes and he goes I think we can park a littler better than that. I said there’s not much parking he goes I’ll teach you how to park. I said it’s ok I know how to drive. So he tells me to go on the other side. There was a car parking where he wanted me to go and there was no way I was parking next to them or I would have hit the car behind me. And couldn’t park on the other side or I would have blocked all the cars going around. So I went and pulled over to their overlot parking where the arrow was pointing. He walks over and says I really don’t want you parking there but I will let it go. I said that’s where the arrow is pointing towards where else am I supposed to park. And he goes Our parking lot is full. My dad says you know what let’s go. My dad asks if he was the owner and he said yes. And he goes you are very rude. We come here every year and the old owners were always very friendly. And the guy steps toward my dad and goes we didn’t like the old owners. And I told my dad let’s just go. We will not return to Bodhaine after how we...
