BEWARE of this restaurant's parking lot. I was brutally attacked in Fat Ivor's parking lot on 1/27/18. I was backed into by a patron, causing thousands of dollars in damage to my vehicle. The Fat Ivor's "regular" (according to numerous folks we spoke with) then jumped out of the vehicle and I was punched in the chest and knocked backwards onto the ground - causing massive back injury to my SI joint, elbow and hip (62/m). I had no chance against this 300lb. drunk. I'd dropped my wife and friend off at the front of the restaurant since the lot was crowded - so initially no one had seen the assault. We spent an hour with law enforcement who gave this patron a free pass after he lied to the police - saying he was just "defending himself" (I'm 150 - half his size and a recent cancer survivor) and that he'd only had TWO tequilas prior to arriving. They took his word on it since he "had bad knees" and was not able to do the sobriety walk - therefore no breath-test. Prior to the police arriving, the assailant tried to drive away form the scene, then insulted me, my wife and wife's friends, calling us "f'ing liberals - we're gonna' MAGA!"
The Fat Ivor's regular got away with blatant assault - EVEN when another diner came forward and state they saw the entire incident - all the cops would do was let me file a citizen's arrest (and the assailant was ready to do the SAME - file assault charges on someone half his size.)
Did Fat Ivor's management come out and see what was transpiring? No. They did nothing....they could not care less that I was brutally attacked on their property. I called the following day - wanting to talk to them about this situation. I spoke with the bar manager (was not there the evening of the attack) who AGREED that the parking lot is a situation RIPE for conflicts/hazards. I requested that the manager call me back so that I could come in and speak with them about what they might do to circumvent this in the future. No callback was ever received. It's a shame, because we just retired here last summer, and would have given Fat Ivor's our continued business over the following decades. I also live at a local country club, and you can be SURE that I'll be making this problem KNOWN to all. All it would've taken was a simple phone call/"we'll try to make the lot...
ย ย ย Read moreMeh, what can I say? Met some friends for dinner at this place. Everyone agreed we would NOT be coming back. I ordered the ribeye, medium rare, big mistake... that's on me. I should have known better. It's a bbq joint, not a steakhouse. The salad came out, just a bowl of chopped iceberg with a small container of dressing, nothing else. Then the steak came, it was HORRIBLE. What I got was one of the stringiest slab of leftover meat that I've had in decades. No This was not even a ribeye cut. Walmart would have been ashamed to sell this in their "discounted" section. I ordered it medium rare, but it was cooked medium to medium-well (barely any pink). I've had better steaks at rundown roadside diners. Hell, I've had better steaks at IHOP for half the price. When I called the waitress over and showed her the steak and how overdone it was, she started arguing with me that she saw some pink. It made no difference to her when I pointed out that pink does not make a steak medium rare. She said she would take the steak to the bartender and see what she had to say. Shortly after another woman came back with my plate in hand and stated she sees red in the steak but that if I wanted, she would call the owner to see if he was willing to replace it. Gotta say, I was totally thrown off. I told her don't worry about it, it's not worth the hassle. She said she'd buy me my next drink (house red), I just thanked her. We just wanted out at that point. We finished up and left. Don't bother with this place, there's too many other much better...
ย ย ย Read moreTried Fat Ivorโs for the first time yesterday. There was a sign letting you know that you could seat yourself. When we walked inside, it was pretty busy but we were still able to find a table right away. We were greeted by our server and had our drink order taken relatively quickly. We ordered the pretzel bites as an appetizer and those were really tasty. The menu says that they come with a side of honey mustard, but we received some warm queso as a dip instead, which was preferred since my husband hates mustard lol. I ordered myself a grilled chicken wrap & my husband ordered some kind of bbq beef sandwich. The server let us know that the kitchen was backed up, so there would be a bit of a wait for the food, which was alright with us. When we got our food, I noticed that the chicken wrap I ordered was really hot. For some reason I thought that the wrap would be cold. My husband devoured his food but he did say that his sandwich was pretty bland unfortunately. I do have to agree and say that the chicken in my wrap was pretty bland as well. There was no kind of sauce in the wrap. It was just a tortilla, grilled chicken, some cheese and wilted lettuce. The tots that were given as a side were really good though. The servers were all very kind,...
