We are new to this area and heard about Finley's. We were anxious to go. Unfortunately our experience there was horrible! First of all, when we walked in, it's a small place, we were ignored while employees chatted and fooled around with the jukebox. When we were acknowledged, we were put in a back room by ourselves. Seemed odd to us but we were fine. Then we placed our order and were told that they were out of the halibut that I ordered. Fair enough. Made another choice. Waiter came back and told my husband that they were out of the escargot and the prime rib. (Prime Rib was their special for the night and it was only 5pm). He was then told they were out of filets also. So he in turn placed a second order. He ordered the seafood salad and a bowl of clam chowder. (Again, special only served on Friday, the day we were there). After about 10 min he came back he was told that they were out of clam chowder too! At this point it seemed comical, like are we on Candid Camera or something? He brought us some garlic bread which tasted old. When our food finally came...we waited over 35 minutes for a chicken sandwich and a seafood salad. Really hungry, we began to dig in. My chicken sandwich which is supposed to be one of the specialities tasted very wrong. The sauces they put on it were not good at all. The my husband tried to eat the seafood salad. He said "Honey, taste this crab." I tried and I spit it out. I said "try the shrimp, they look good." He had me taste that too. AWFUL! The seafood was obviously bad. He got really upset, we paid our $50.00 bill for a salad and a sandwich and left. Not sure if they just had a bad day but we will never return there again! When we got home my husband got sick. I called them back to tell them about the bad seafood so that they won't serve it to anyone else that night. I was hoping for a possible discount or refund, or even an apology. All we got was "He got sick that fast?" and then an "okay then:". Very, very disappointing. Very...
Read moreWanted something other than Truck Stop Food. Searched Google, saw this was only a 1.8 mile walk, thought to myself “I’ve gone 3 one way for grub before, let’s do this!” Did not disappoint. RibEye was perfection. Baker was loaded and delicious. Service was friendly. Great conversation, great hosts. Will visit again if I’m in the area. Excellent Excellent place.
Alright. Update. 1/3/21. So, I dip my fries in Bleu Cheese. Don’t hate. Some like blondes, some like brunettes. (We alllll different, fam’) Stopped in for lunch. Ordered the Reuben. Do it. Epic. Only compared to Katz in NYC. Fries were a generic crinkle cut, fried perfectly. But expected to be underwhelmed. Nah. Garlic seasoned to perfection. Backing up to the Bleu Cheese... ? the chunks of BC in the dressing were heavy enough, they were breaking my fries. B...r...e...a...k...i...n...g... them. Impressive. The sauerkraut was just right, tang, crunch, the corned beef 🥩 was to die for.
This place is legitimately the best thing...
