Winter 2025: Asked for käsespätzle. Still not available. Got the German Bread time app. Not much to it, or of it. Should have looked at the picture on the left more closely. When I read Bavarian bread, wasn't thinking german sourdough. My brain went to Semmelknödel , which it is not. The pickle was limp with slight sweetness (Kuhne barrel pickle would have been better). Cheese and brat were good, just not much of it. Finally got Rahmschnitzel, it was pretty good. Was expecting something a little creamier, but the fresh mushrooms were great. Found out they don't make the red cabbage. They import something from Germany. I have Hengstenberg Red Cabbage in a jar at home, it's OK. Stick w/house made cold sauerkraut- it very good. The Spätzle is also not homemade, and has an unusual shape. Egg noodle version of casarecce pasta ? But tastes ok. As usual, service was excellent, and inside is very loud, especially after 6 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Fall 2024: Had the Oktoberfest sample for two. Still no käsespätzle. Now that I have been here multiple times, am finding diff. results. This time:brats not great - tasted old and starting to turn. Potato pancakes and schnitzel were good- nice texture and seasoning, and not overcooked. Tried for first time: Bavarian sauerkraut- ok, still like the cold one better. Meatloaf. Not your mother's. It's a finer grind of meat, somewhat compressed, with firm texture, like a brownie. Topped with carmelized onions that worked well. I think this is Leberkäse? Gypsy sauce. Not my thing. Tasted like thick creamy tomato soup. If was more in the Zigeuner style- more chunky, and red pepper forward, with a bit of heat, I might have liked it. Overall Oktoberfest sampler was good, but would be better if customer could choose brats and two sauces. Had the dark hefe, dunkel not avail.
Spring 2024: Was a bit disappointed this time. The potato pancakes & schnitzel was over cooked. Tried the potato croquettes as a side and they were terrible. (Even with curry ketchup). Still waiting for Rahmschnitzel Beet salad unremarkable. The Spätzle and cold sauerkraut are still the best sides. Sausages, hefeweizen, and dunkel were great. As usual, service was excellent. However it was very loud and hot inside. 2023: Schnitzel with hunter sauce is still good, but still don't give enough sauce, but better seasoning this time. Also tried one with curry sauce- very sweet, not spicy at all. Bigos ok - kind of like a smoky sauerkraut with meat. In March, the cold sauerkraut is the best I have ever had. Recently a touch too much vinegar and salt but works when eating with schnitzel. They finally have red cabbage, but found it a bit mushy, no sweetness, and a little bland. Smoked and curry sausages were table favorites. Apple strudel delicious, and still the best I've had. Not too sweet, right amount of cinnamon, and great texture pastry. 2022 Finally made it back. Wednesday is schnitzel day and a good way to try some different sauces, and comes with choice of side and salad for $15 I wish they had a permanent rahm or creamy hunter sauce option, for the schnitzel and Spätzle. Cold sauerkraut had better seasoning and flavor than the warm one with mushrooms. Schnitzel is good, could use a touch more salt and pepper in the batter, but better on the amount of sauce, but could use more. The smoked brat was the favorite on the sausage plate. Potato Pancakes good. Apple strudel was delicious. Only offer Rouladen in December.
10/2020 sampler plate... hmm where's the spaetzle? Where's the red cabbage? Hunter sauce Ok, and not very much of it, and a little under seasoned. Two different kinds of sauerkraut one was the traditional and the other one, I don't know what it was, but it was really good. Meatballs were okay. The sausages were good.
Look forward to coming back when the menu has expanded a bit more. Would like to see on a future menu: Rinderrouladen Sliced pork roast Sauerbraten Spaetzle with mushroom gravy or...

Back again for their awesome Wednesday special. This is getting to be a habit. I had the half-and-half pork schnitzel with beet salad and tuna salad. Delicious. It seemed to be cooked fresh and hot which is important to me. We started with an order of the potato pancakes. Four of them…comes with cucumber dipping sauce and applesauce. They also appeared to be cooked hot and fresh! Thank you German Guys! My son had the bratwurst dinner and enjoyed it! Kudos to our awesome server, Tiffany. She did a perfect job. Checked in on us just enough and kept our drinks full. And this week they had plenty of ice and the inside of the restaurant was fairly comfortable. I’m sure we will be back next Wednesday‼️ ——————- Update: Friday, April 11, 2025 PM
My ratings will stand at three stars. The fish special they had on Friday for $22 was OK. Actually, the fish was very good. A nice large portion. You won’t leave hungry. You had your choices one side and one salad. I chose the purple cabbage for my side and some kind of little potato things for the other side. For starters, we had the potato pancakes. Both of the potato products definitely SUBPAR. Like they’ve been cooked in batches ahead of time and sat under a warming lamp getting soggy and then reheated in the microwave prior to serving. Both should’ve had a crisp outer coating and a piping hot inside. Neither did‼️ The service was level three. They were busy. At one point all the tables were filled (it’s quite a small place) and they had people dining outside on the patio. Most of the sauces were good. The tartar sauce was excellent. The sour cream/cucumber sauce for the potato pancakes was good. The purple cabbage was lacking seasoning. It’s been a while since we’ve been there so we had to go back and see how everything was today. We were a bit disappointed. When you’re paying that kind of money, EVERYTHING needs to be cooked hot and fresh‼️
———————— Three stars is the best I can give for this dining experience. We had a couple of snafus along the way that brought the stars down.
I wanted iced tea with my meal. I asked if it was fresh brewed. No. Sometimes it’s the little things that count. I can get canned or bottled iced tea at home. Any restaurant worth of salt should have fresh brewed iced tea.
For my meal I ordered pork Jager schnitzel with purple cabbage and spaetzle. The cabbage and noodles were good. The schnitzel must’ve been left over from earlier in the afternoon because it was barely warm. I said something to my server and she said they would remake it. About five minutes later the new schnitzel came out and guess what… it was chicken, not pork like I initially ordered! Smh The last snafu… German strudel sounded good for dessert. I ordered it to go. It looked like half of a hot pocket with a few slices of apple inside and a couple of blueberries on the plate. It was actually pretty tasty. The menu said it was $6. I was charged $8! I didn’t say anything because I was pretty much over dinner and just wanted to leave. Check out the photo that I posted.
The interior of the restaurant was cooler than outside but it was quite humid. They must use a water cooler. By the time I was finish eating I was perspiring from the humidity. They weren’t busy at all. For most of my dinner there’s only one other couple in the restaurant. My server said they were busy earlier in the afternoon. I was there around 6 PM. Considering my experience tonight I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon. That’s sad because this is one of the only German places...
Read moreMy wife and I had lunch here on a Thursday, I mention this because they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. As soon as we entered the door we were met by the waitress who graciously seated us and took our drink order. We would later find out that this young lady and her husband were the owners. There is a lunch menu and a dinner menu. There are additional items on the dinner menu. We both ordered the Pork Schnitzel. My sides were the potatoe salad and the noodle salad. My wife had read a comment from someone else about there being peas in the potatoe salad. I liked the peas. They added a sweetness that I enjoyed. The noodle salad included white chicken chunks which was a nice extra protein. My wife also had the potatoe salad which she enjoyed. Her second side was sauerkraut. I tried a bite of the sauerkraut and decided next time to have it as one of my sides. Let me say here that I was not exposed to German food growing up like my wife was. Throughout our lunch my wife was reminiscing about her mom's German influenced meals. When our lovely waitress asked if we wanted mustard or ketchup with our meals my wife said yes to mustard, because that was how they ate Schnitzel as children. I really liked it with mustard too. We were too full to have desert but seeing Yelp pictures of the Apple Strudel makes me want to try it the next time we go back. As we were about to leave the husband/Chef came into the dining room and was speaking with another couple there. By the time we paid our bill, this young German couple had ingratiated themselves to us both. This is another family (mom and pop) business that is deserving of our (and your support) to succeed. I am looking forward to coming back and expanding my introduction and appreciation for German home...
