Such delicious food. You can tell they cook with love….and the freshest of ingredients. I got the half sandwich-half soup lunch option. The bread was a house baked sourdough and the turkey tasted like they roasted it that morning. The herbs in the beany brothy soup must have been garden picked, and the delicate seasoning was light and savory. My biggest regret? That I passed up the cookies on the front counter. I need to get back in there soon!

We ate inside the Good Bones historic roadhouse. They keep the flavor of that history with musical events, and also offer catering and private events. The location is just around the corner from Jug Handle State Natural Reserve with its lovely beach, and the Ecological Staircase Trail. Also, very close to Russian Gulch State Park. So, if you want to pick up a lunch and take it with you to a nearby scenic spot that's an option too.

Even though I live locally I didn't know about Good Bones, until a friend raved about their rice bowls. Caspar is such a tiny town it's easy to drive by…but get in here! You won't...

I feel bad posting this review because I really wanted to like the place. The staff was friendly, the place was very cute but the food was definitely lacking, and at the end of the day if the food isn't good it's hard to justify wanting to return.

The best thing of the night was the snack plate, but the majority of that were things not really prepared in house, IE cheese and charcuterie. Their Buffalo wings were clearly cooked earlier, and reheated. They came out lukewarm, were seemingly baked and not fried. While it may seem nitpicky.. they didn't have buffalo sauce on them and instead had a house made sort of sweet spicy hot sauce that just lacked the acidic tang and the rich buttery vibes of a true buffalo sauce. The roast chicken was also clearly precooked, as when it arrived it was half warm and half cold, which is never pleasant.

When you're paying 50 plus dollars (Admittedly with appetizer, entrée, and drinks ) you just expect more than pre-prepared food being reheated.

I realize that the place is relatively new, hopefully it can make...

You must go out of your way to stop here for a lunch bite, or an evening with live music and bites! I had the lunch menu and ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The bread is house made and was chef’s kiss so good! And the pulled pork, wow it’s insane. The sandwich to spoil all others 😋 Folks in my group ordered the rice bowl, another sandwich and the bean soup and loved their meals. We didn’t know when we ordered that it was the owner helping us, and he very kindly let us order an heirloom tomato salad not offered on the menu that was so so fresh and flavorful. Every detail of the food, the quality, and service was considered. Stop here, take time to enjoy, and be kind to the staff -...

We stopped by Good Bones for lunch during our visit to Mendocino from Los Angeles. We shared the chicken rice bowl, the chicken soup, the turkey sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie. We loved everything!! Not only was the food comforting and delicious, the owner, Myles, was extremely welcoming and shared some great tips for the rest of our trip - hiking as well as another new restaurant down the road (Maritime Cafe). We enjoyed our time so much we decided to go back a second time for a concert that evening. Vibe was great and there was a mix of both locals and visitors. Overall, great spot and we’ll be back!

Had a truly incredible anniversary dinner at Good Bones. Top quality ingredients, creativity, heart, execution and service. It feels like the coolest person you know is having a dinner party and you’re lucky enough to be invited. The sourdough rivals that of Bell’s in Los Alamos- it’s that good! The black cod was perfection. The duck wings were fantastic, but that slaw that accompanied it- we couldn’t get enough! Llano Seco pork chop- only the best. Nicely curated natural wine selection. I’m really excited to follow this restaurant along its journey and see all of the accolades they will undoubtedly earn.

Came in late on a Friday and was so happy that they were still open and willing to take us for dinner. As it turns out every thing closes pretty early in this area. We had the fish, the chickpeas, and the spaghetti. And it was all fantastic. Very hip vibe and hope to come back again! I would recommend bringing your own wine and doing a corkage fee though. Strangely they only had one local red and it was not only pricy but really not good. But this is solvable and the food was so good don’t let it deter you!
