The staff were definitely friendly greeting me with smiles upon entry
Unfortunately they were not able to be accommodating accommodating when I came in with a request. It is their prerogative whether they want to do something that is a little out of the ordinary, although becoming more and more regular as people opt for sustainable plant based lifestyles
sadly, they declined when I asked if they could make a vegan pizza and use an unopened bag of plant based cheese that I brought so that my veg, hugging friends and visitors could eat their pizza.
It is a shame because this is the closest pizza place to where I have a winter home and it would be a regular stop on my way back from Northstar to just be able to pick up a pizza and go.
But it is the case I guess accommodations for plant-based consumers are not in the books this year at least in 2025. But I'm sure these folks have their reasons.
It's weird because places like base camp pizza at Heavenly Village (voted amongst the top 5 pizza in the whole country on yelp) do allow us to bring our own faux cheese.
you would think this would be a win for the pizza place because they don't need to discount and no one would ask them that for that anyway. but at the same time they don't have to provide their own cheese.
The unopened package of Daiya or Follow your Heart cheese substance assures them that this is not a contaminated food.
So I wish more places would offer this as both stakeholders or should I say "cheese-holders" stand to win.
I do love the interior, which makes me all the more sad that we couldn't agree to have a vegan cheese option. it's rustic and has a small comfortable feel. I know I would fatten up for the winter real good...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePizza was really good, excellent actually to order 2nd time in 5 days. 2nd order placed online said it would be ready in 30-35 min, given the holiday weekend I showed up 45 min to give a little extra time. When I arrived the kid at the register casually tells me itāll be another 20 mins because they are backed up. Iām obviously a little frustrated so he gets the manager (which I never asked for) who comes out very rude and short tempered basically tells me to cancel my order and no where in Tahoe can I get anything quickly right now. Obviously I cancel because thatās not the point. The point is you should have the decency to be a little polite when your running over an hour behind on orders when you are not informing your customers. If your gov shuts down the state again this fall/winter youāll need every customer you can get, and telling someone to cancel their order is very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCanāt judge them on their pizza because I havenāt tried one in about 20 years but I did have their vegetarian lasagna and the mozzarella Panne. The lasagna was alright, a little devoid of vegetables but tasty. The Penne I wasnāt such a fan of. The pasta was very Al dente, starchy and not to my taste. The cheesy breadsticks were a little doughy but not a complete disappointment. The Caesar salad I ordered had about 5 times more parmesan on it than Iād ever seen on a Caesar. I might try a calzone or a pizza in the future but Iāll be steering clear of the pasta and Caesar. Friendly service and clean looking place. Not especially expensive but nothing seems cheap when youāre disappointed. Wouldnāt be at the top of the list as far as places Iād recommend but I wouldnāt completely rule them out either. I might think twice about returning.. Iām still...
