Overall great job Ocotillo Restaurant & Catina! We got take out for dinner last night and the food was pretty good. We got a cheese and bean burrito, carne asada dinner plate and a 2 enchilada plate(1 beef and 1 chicken). All the food was really good. The burrito was pretty big and we liked how the carne asada was slices of beef instead of the normal chopped up pieces. The enchiladas were smaller than expected but it tasted pretty good. Since the food was pretty good we decided to go for breakfast this morning and that was a great decision. There was no wait for seating and the service was really good. We knew the food was going to be pretty good and we weren't disappointed. We ordered 2 kids pancake breakfast with eggs and bacon, kitchen sink omelet with hashbrowns and a chicken steak with eggs plate. Everything tasted great and portions were big. There was a little confusion with our order but wasn't a huge deal. The waitress was quick to fix it. The only thing that prevented me from giving them a 5 star is they need to update the restaurant a little. There were a few booths that have rips on the seating and you can smell the bathrooms if you are sitting on the right side of the restaurant. It was wasn't really bad but definitely noticeable. Overall a great experience with take and dine in. You definitely won't be disappointed...
Read moreJust last week I moved close to this restaurant. My wife and I wanted to have a Mexican breakfast. I was craving chilaquiles. So, we went to the place. I ordered the chilaquiles and my wife ordered enchiladas. A friend that went with us ordered a shredded beef taco. The chilaquiles did not taste like chilaquiles. They were more like corn chips soaked in a green sauce. The refried beans tasted like they were made from canned beans. The enchiladas according to my wife, tasted as made from canned sauce. My friend said her taco tasted old. The service was good. That is the only thing going for the place. The over all experience was mediocre at best. I asked the server how long did they owned the place, and he said the owners owned the place for about five years. That explained the fiasco. I had eaten there many years ago, and remember the food tasting authentically Mexican ( I know, I am Mexican from Mexico City) so, I know how Mexican food should taste like. I give it one star, and that is because the...

Three of us went in for dinner. Service was fast, friendly and very good. Very little wait for beverages or our dinner orders. The food was so, so tasty. We got dinner combos - we all loved them and snarfed them down.
Think about your exit strategy when you pick your parking spot - if you want to go west when you leave you want to be able make a fast left turn from the intersection at the east side of the restaurant. It's a long way to the next traffic light to make a U-Turn.
We noticed several people came in for pick-up orders and the process was quick each time.
Bottom line: we had a wonderful dinner. We took home leftovers, and a take home order each. We will return to Ocotillo Restaurant...
