2023 UPDATE:

Well, here it is, a couple years later and O.T. is still going strong. This place has become my ultimate favorite for carné asada street tacos. I have tried MANY others & have yet to find carné asada that is even remotely comparable.

I lived in San Diego for YEARS before settling up here in beautiful Nor Cal & spent tons of time south of the border (T.J., Estero Beach, Rosarito, Puerto Nuevo) and I can confidently say that the carné asada street tacos from Oroville Tacos are the closest thing to the ones I used to get down south! The carnitas is a close second.

The guys who work there know my order and usually repeat it back to me before I even have to say a word. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit 😹😹 They are always, kind, generous and friendly.

They recently answered my prayers & are open on Saturdays now (this might be a trial run to see how much business they get tho so don't come for me if they happen to not be open lol).

2021UPDATE:

After the pandemic stuff loosened up, I was so pleased that Oroville Tacos was still around! I went there to order dinner and everything came out perfect. While I was there, I guess they were in the process of cooking up a fresh batch of carné asada on the griddle and I can't tell you how GOOD it smelled! I decided that I HAD to try it next time (I usually go with the carnitas). When the gentleman brought my order out, he handed me a little package which, to my delight, contained a carné asada street taco...gratis! I was so impressed with the amazing flavor (not to mention the so very kind gesture), I ended up returning the same evening to order 4 more of those delicious street tacos. Let me tell you that we have tried street tacos ALL over Oroville & the surrounding areas and Oroville Tacos is, hands down, the best by FAR. If you haven't tried them & enjoy carné asada, you are really missing out!

I have been going to this location from day one and the sister location for as long as they were open last 2 visits have been way less then favorable I tried to say something yesterday while one of the employees was making my order and he just kept on doing what he was doing not listening to me so let me say I dont complain much but when I order and I get as much meet as a taquito on all 7 tacos 5 of one flavor 2 of another and the guy next to me gets enough for 3 tacos on each one there is a problem I did notice he was Latino and im a white guy but the other regular employees usually make things great but the guy helping me does not know me THAT SHOULD NOT MATTER EVERYONE SHOULD GET TREATED FAIRLY thats the second time I have had a problem the first time was possibility just cuz they may have been low or out of chilli Colorado but my order was very incorrect I tried to call but no one answered so I stopped after an hr of calling back then they were closed so I let that one go but after yesterday and the price he charged me was more then every other employee has ever charged for 7 tacos something has to be said here they may not care or reply to this but I have said my piece and everyone can see what has happened. We have a very big selection of places to go but I chose to drive way out of my way to support them as I have for many years.do better people dont look at someone and make their order skimpy and charge them more becuse they are not Latino. Got a carne asana taco lunch plate today and had horrible food poisoning afterwards! We went back to the establishment later in the day, as my boyfriend wanted to kindly give them a heads up so they were aware. The manager was rude and insisted I was sick from something else, and said that they’ve “never” had anyone sick from their food. I was curious and googled them to see if anyone else had food poisoning recently - and there it is! A review from ONE week ago says a whole family got food poisoning! Bummed that the manager didn’t at least empathize with us, only denied it and was rude. We weren’t looking to cause a scene or get a refund, we genuinely just wanted them to be aware. I would not recommend this place, folks. They’re not kind, accountable, or willing to hear their customers. AND, apparently their food has to be multiple people food poisoning...
