We've lived in BVS for almost 20 years, but I/we had never gone to P-Dubs before (if you can believe it!). I happened to be out there for a haircut at Cut Loose Salon and I saw the sign for P-Dubs and decided to go in and order something to go. Kara was the young lady who waited on me and she was super nice. I got the Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich with shoestring fries. I drove home and warmed everything up in my air fryer once I got back home. My son and I split the sandwich (they give you a lot of food). It was absolutely DELICIOUS!
I was so impressed by that sandwich that the next day (7/14/21), my husband and I decided to go back to P-Dubs for our 37th wedding anniversary lunch. This time we ate inside. It felt safe. My husband ordered the beef dip sandwich and I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad with a side of garlic bread. On the whole, I thought everything was quite good. My husband said that the meat on the beef dip sandwich was a little cold, but the au jus was nice and warm. He never complains about food at restaurants, so he just ate it the way that it was.
We had told our son that we would bring him home something for lunch. I had grabbed one of their to-go menus the day before, so he looked at the menu and decided that he would like for us to pick him up the Mediterranean Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a side of shoestring fries. Molly (our waitress -- super nice gal and very attentive) waited until we were almost done eating before turning in the to-go order portion of our order for us. I decided to bring home a slice of their Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana pie to eat later on too. When we got home, and our son took a look at his sandwich, he noticed that there was a pink line across one half of the meat on his chicken sandwich. Worried that it was undercooked, he decided to microwave it for a short time and sure enough , that pink part turned white, so that part had definitely been undercooked. He tried to eat the sandwich, but mentally, just knowing that that part had been undercooked, he was too worried that it might have contaminated the sandwich, so he decided to throw the sandwich away. He just didn't want to risk getting food poisoning.
I contacted P-Dubs and explained what had happened yesterday. I was told that a manager would contact me. I heard back from Ashley the next day. She was very apologetic about what had happened with my son's sandwich. They're going to make it right. Next time we go to P-Dubs (and we will definteily be going back), they'll take off the cost of that sandwich from our next order. I'm very pleased about that. It's good to know that P-Dubs wants to make things right with their customers whenever something hasn't gone right.
The piece of pie was...
Read moreBeen coming to Tehachapi for about 25 years now, recently started looking at homes in the Stallion Springs area so thought I would just drop in here for a beer and to check the place out. A very cute place, I love little Hometown places like this . I sat at that the bar counter and ordered a beer. The young blonde bartender did not seem to pleased that I didn't want to order something to eat, just a beer and one well shot. I come from a small town, Big Bear so I know the little locals cult like atmosphere only too well. Very obvious that she is quite cocky, arrogant, she is only working here as a favor to you. It was not busy at all, and when I ask her very politely if I can pay my tab, so I could meet my realtor at a property, I did not expect her to disappear off into the kitchen to go Chit Chat with her girlfriend for 10 minutes. I could see them through the little saloon doors just standing shooting the breeze and finally got a bit annoyed and went up do the kitchen, told her I really had to leave and could I pay my bill now. I honestly would have rather just dropped the money on the bar and left if I knew the total, as I hated to put her out of her way. Even for a mug of beer and one shot, the total still came to almost $20. After reading many of the other bad reviews, mostly about horrible service by her and her co-workers, I did not feel so bad leaving mine. People just don't give a crap about representing the hard-working owners of these businesses that invest there money Blood Sweat and Tears into getting them off the ground, building up a clientele, and hopefully one day, actually making a small profit, which is practically impossible in California anymore. Very hard to find good help anymore. I myself have been self-employed for 30 years now, so I...
Read moreMy second experience here was bad. I ordered the Mac n cheese that came with salad 🥗. I can’t eat hardly any mac & cheese. I could not stomach it because it was so thick and heavy. I could hardly swallow it down so I asked to have something different.
After I switched it out for something more edible and I get my ticket I find that my price after taxes is $27 when it should be only about 20 with a pop and sliders instead of mac & cheese
I asked the waitress about it and she said oh I charged you for the salad because you ate it. I said well the salad was part of the macaroni and cheese meal not something separate so it would stand to reason that if I can’t eat the mac & cheese then it seems petty to charge me Seven dollars for a salad that’s hardly even worth four dollars because it’s watercress and not real salad leaves.
She said oh really and I said yes really I have a couple of times where I ordered something at a restaurant and it wasn’t what I had expected and they took it back and they did not charge me for the small soup or salad that came with it.
She eventually agreed to take off the seven dollars for the mediocre salad that was included in the entrée I had originally ordered. I told her it’s pretty sad I have to argue with you over something so petty.
My total after she took, the salad off is $20.03 my original ticket with the mac & cheese, and my pop came out to $27
That means that she was charging me a good seven dollars for a very small mediocre salad, which is insane !!
I will probably still come back since I do like their food, but now I know that this restaurant is extremely petty if something is not right with the food and you ate a little cup of super little salad that they’re gonna charge you an arm and...
