We usually stay at Faria and really enjoy the cafe. They have amazing food, but this time we had to book at Hobson Beach. We decided to walk to Faria's anyway and looked forward to getting a bite at Peirano's last Wednesday after walking a couple of miles to get there. We got there at 2:40pm, 20 min before closing, yet the girl at the window said, "we closed early because it wasn't very busy." What was she still doing at the open window then and chit-chatting with the other co-workers behind her? Why was there no Closed sign? Why was there no offer to make a cold sandwich, or offer a limited "cold" menu, as I understand the stove might have needed to be turned off? You don't just turn away customers if the hours state that you're open. You offer alternative options and show some remorse for letting customers down. You don't continue talking and laughing with your coworkers, while turning customers away. People trust businesses to stick to their hours, and they make their plans accordingly. There was another couple that came up right after us, so they were at a loss, too. Because we wanted to rest before walking back to the Hobson campground - we noticed that all employees left at 3:10pm, which made me wonder WHY they couldn't service customers if they were staying til closing anyway. Maybe they just wanted to get their hours in for the day? Not fair to the owner of the establishment nor...
Read moreI have been camping at Faria Beach for over 20 years .....What I have heard is that it is the owners kids that run this cafe. I can only talk about the breakfast sandwich and potatoes. Because when I went to order lunch one day they were closed for their lunch break which is crazy for a cafe to close from 2-3...so I went back to my camp and made my own lunch 🤣.. As far as the breakfast sandwich .... the first one was really good and cooked perfectly the guy made it and I just made sure to tell them no srirraha sauce because it seems they like to put it on a lot of things. The second time I ordered the breakfast sandwich it had a runny egg and when I brought it back the girl (owners daughter) said that is how they make them and was snappy rude about it. I'm 66 years old and I don't know about any of you but I have had a lot of breakfast sandwichs at different places and I have never had a runny egg in one of them. She ended up saying she would remake it but after her attuide I said forget it.... even thought I said not to she still made another one which was a too little too late. I have heard from a lot of people that they also have gotten a rude attuide from that cafe. Potatoes were pretty spicy .....It also seems they need to have more change on hand. Since they were posting a sign for a long time that they would not take...
Read moreLocated at Faria Beach campground in Ventura! This is a 5-star quality cafe! We enjoyed the brisket sandwich (several times), the Emma Wood breakfast burrito (the bomb) grilled cheese, and the Mondo burrito! We stayed 9 days & had a great food experience every time! Go there even if you aren't camping, sit at their cute tables & view the ocean! Worth every penny, we split all the sandwiches & burritos & shared cause they're HUGE meaty portions! A must GO! Super friendly & kind. My new nick name from the assistant cook was "brisket" wish I had...
