Just off hwy 99, we found this Indian dhaba...you truly get the dhaba food here! really tasty! And portions are huge, so order accordingly. We were so hungry that we first ate and then remembered to take some pics :) It is covid so there was no dine in option. They did have a couple of rustic tables and chairs outside but was too hot to have food there. When we first got here it looked small and in a trucking/industrial sort of area, not your typical strip mall so were little unsure but so glad we ordered coz again the food was great. We ordered 2 large lassi (Mango and Sweet). I think large really means two glasses since we got 4 total cups of lassi. We ordered one muli parantha which again was two parantha and each was like 15 or 18inch (huge). Paranthas came with real yogurt (not the typical restaurant raita kinds) in 16oz cup. Also ordered makki di roti (came as 2 qty 6inch each) and sarso saag, shahi paneer, butter chicken and garlic naan. My favorite was Shahi paneer. Note they call the 16oz cup as 'small', so we thought we will go with the bigger one for our family which is 32oz. So ended up with way too much food :) Hot and tasty food. Downsides were the location and wait time (they said 25min but ended up being 45 min...but for that fresh hot tasty...
Read moreI went to Punjabi Dhaba today for the first time. Dine in was not available so I ordered to go. I ordered 2 aaloo parontha, 2 tandoori naan, chicken curry, and mango lassi. Food was hot (cooked on order) and delicious. Good Quality with gracious amount of food (size of paronthas and roti was more than I expected). Personally I like spicy food but this was normal spice level food which Suits to everyone's taste so I liked it. I would definitely mention the tandoori roti because most of the time tandoori roti becomes way too hard to eat after an hour or two but this tandoori roti was soft even after 3 hrs of packing . The best part was getting that Onion, Green chili, and mooli (white reddish) for the salad and Indian style curd (yogurt) and pickles for the parontha. ( I am Indian and these things are what you want when you go to eat outside). Customer satisfaction. I really enjoyed the meal. (PS: it’s not a restaurant, so expecting that decor and ambience will be wrong. order will take time so you have to wait for the food, and it works in kind of Indian way (phone calls in the middle, and a bit slow). Where you place order has no AC so it’s hot and has flies)😬 if you go with Indian Dhaba mindset, you...
Read moreAloo Paratha is solid and a must try. Overall the naans and rotis are also very good and worth ordering with main dishes. Huge servings to begin with so don't go overboard with the breads. This place is a total hole in the wall restaurant and you would never go in here if it's not recommended or you were kidnapped and dropped off inside.
Service was subpar, our waiter was a young kid and pretty sure it was his first day as he didn't know any of the dishes and then we ordered the chicken tikka masala but the tandoori chicken came out. Again I'm hoping it was his first day...
Shahi Paneer was good flavors but the paneer was clearly frozen or cut down in size as they were smaller than average. Desi Murg was similar to a pepper chicken curry. Chicken was very tender and was only slightly overcooked but for a random hole in the wall place very impressive. Mango Lassi was served in a nice tin tall glass but needed cardamom and other spices to elevate it. Otherwise it was milked down Mango yogurt.
Family friendly and parking in front. Not at all formal so it's great for kids to run around. If you're in the area I'd recommend checking it out for the breads but...
