Edit to response: I did become upset (for this I apologize) when I was treated the way I was by the establishment, that and years of expecting restaurants to understand and respect food allergies, and being let down time and time again. I did not however say anything disrespectful towards any employee and simply stated I would never return or order again. Further if you'd like I can provide a picture of our reciept CLEARLY showing that we did ask for no croutons, bread on the side, and we had cleared your ranch in a prior trip. Oh and the bread...yeah you put that in the salad too...a salad made for a GLUTEN allergic customer. Anyone reading this can clearly make their own decision, but if they have allergy concerns, Rye's isn't the place for them.

Final straw for us. We have a gluten allergy in the family, due to that we ask for no fries on our salads (fries are fried in the same fryer as items containing gluten). Our receipt clearly stated that (so the order taker got it perfect). When I opened the salad there were fries, ok they made a mistake (restaurants need to be cognizant of allergy concerns, period, it is not acceptable to ignore allergy requests, as it can be flat out dangerous), I went back in and asked nicely if they could remake the salad due to the allergy concerns. The bar tender looked at me with a snarky attitude and said "well we'll pick them off". I said that is not acceptable, can you guys just re-make the salad please. Her response..."well you are going to have to wait at least 30 minutes." My order was already paid in full...I even left a tip because of the circumstances that restaurants and servers are facing. It is just completely unacceptable in this day and age to not offer acceptable customer service, Ryes has let us down for the final time. I highly suggest frequenting another...

This will be my first and last visit! When we arrived, there were 3 tables occupied in dining area with a grand total of 8 people. ( there were 2 people in my party.)

We were given menus, ordered fish sandwiches which were described as cod fish on 9 inch bun with fries included for $11.99 per menu price. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. What a disappointment! The fries were dark brown and over fried, tasted like old oil was used to fry them. The fish was definitely not cod, more like pollock, cod is white, flakey and meaty, while whatever fish this was had grey streaks through it and was mushy and greyish white in color. The fish was much smaller than the bun, most places give you more fish than the bun. The bun was the best tasting part of the meal, at least it was fresh.

When the check came, they charged us $15.84 each for the sandwiches. I brought this to the server’s attention. We were told that the prices were raised after Covid and they have not updated the prices on their menus. This is hilarious because Covid was in 2020!

I asked to speak to a manager because this is a deceptive representation of prices.

The server returned with an adjusted check, and we were charged the amount reflected on their menu.

PS we did not get to speak to a manager but that was OK since they were kind and adjusted the check.

Also I wanted to make one last comment regarding legalities.

Restaurants are legally required to ensure their menu prices are accurate because this may violate consumer protection laws.

Pros: ample parking, cleanliness, ac works well,...

We stopped for lunch and found the menu options to be very good. What we didn't like was the fact that the food prices on the receipt were 25%-50% higher than the printed menu. It was only me and my 2 children stopping for lunch, and the bill was over $60 before adding a tip! We had anticipated the bill to be around $40, based on prices presented in the menu. The server did not warn us before the meal that prices had increased so drastically, and when questioned, we were informed that they were embarrassed that the owners were gouging customers with raising the prices. The server said she just works there, and doesn't agree either. I have never seen the prices that this little place is charging for just chicken tenders and french fries! At other similar establishments I would have been able to order 2 for what we paid for one. Also, the server pointed to a wall behind us that had a tiny sign that said prices subject to change, however...no one could have anticipated that much of a price hike! Also, the server did not do her job and warn us that priced had increased so high. I will not be returning, based solely on the poor business practices of the owners. Everyone expects prices to be higher now, but screwing people for a profit is just not cool. Skip this place, and drive back...

Started the day off by driving from pittsburgh to swallows for a day trip. skipped breakfast and lunch and just elected to snag dinner on the road. As we were driving back we started looking for a place to eat. my friend found this place and said it looked cute and the food looked good thus we decided to come here. walked in and a very nice waitress greeted us and told us to sit wherever we felt comfortable which instantly set a positive tone! from there we realized she was the only waitress on the floor and despite that everyone got their drinks and food in a timely order. our waitress bobby/bobbie delivered some of the best food of our lives to us and made our group truly feel welcome. The food was fantastic, the vestaburger was “ the best burger” my girlfriend had ever eaten. my other two friends got wings with their “freaky ranch” or something like that with a spicy cajun twist that was fantastic. End of the day that made our trip 1000 fold better and we already talked about making the drive back. THANK YOU BOBBY!!
