It's sad to see a long time Copper Country Tradition circulating the drain & sinking. Back in the 70's thru the 90's ( In my era) The Hut was to go to place for Quality Food, Generous Portions, Great Service, all at Great Pricing, In a Clean Welcoming Environment. There slogan was "The Place of Warmth & Enchantment". Not anymore. It's now "The Place of Heartaches & Dispair." Its sad to see this Restaurant going down hill. It's been heading this direction for a Good many years. They're continuously out of items. Take for Instance this past Evening ( 1/14/21,) No Whitefish, Trout, Steak, Or BBQ Ribs. This isn't the First time this has happened. Your Sunday Roast Beef Dinners don't hold a Candle to years past. The same can be said for The so called Steak Burger Deluxe. You get a better burger at Home.

A Restaurant is as good as its Manager, If he or she doesn't care, it reflects through out. They don't have the same interest as an Owner would My Advice, Bring back the Old Hut, You will have much happier Customers. By the way, How about a Dust Rag, Good Mopping, Vacuuming. It's really sad to see how far South this place has gone.

We visited after reading how great their pasties were. Having had several different pasties over the last few years we were excited to try theirs.

We were greeted upon entering with a dingy atmosphere. There was a "Please wait to be seated" sign. We waited about five minute before someone finally realized we were waiting. Service is important to me and that was poor front of house serve.

The pasty was not anything to rave about. The only positive thing I'll say was the crust was flaky and tasty. The filling inside was lacking any flavor. Some of the meat inside mine seemed to lack quality, almost being gristly.

In summary skip this place. The food we had was subpar and lacking any flavor. The decor is outdated and the place seems to be needing a lot of updating and maintenance. I will not visit again.

One final note if you read some (what we were told was older) information it says they have free WiFi, that is incorrect. We are from down state and have no cell signal so we were looking forward to...

Horrible experience, would not recommend unless you are a regular. Waited near 10 minutes to be recognized to be seated because they had a large group coming in, I'm ok with waiting but please acknowledge I'm standing there. After finally getting seated a high chair was needed, we pointed out that the buckles where broken, the waitress didn't acknowledge that and kept walking, another 5 minutes to be brought water, never took a drink order, 10 minutes after being brought water a waitress finally come over to take our order, which they didn't have wait I wanted. Out of frustration we left poor service, long waits, and not having what I wanted, three strikes and your out. When leaving the group of waitress who where standing doing nothing started taking about us leaving in a condescending tone and commented they must not be from around here. My advice for this restaurant is a little customer service goes a long way in maintaining customers. Positive side of my whole experience was...

This was a nice place, the floor was a bit dirty but it was near the end of the day also they opened the main doors and i got bit by a lot of mosquitoes; I got to try the roast beef, country fried steak and their bacon liver they’re pretty good except the country fried steak was like a sponge it wasn’t really a steak i guess but the gravy on it was super good the menu has quite a lot of things on it also the Michigan wild rice and mashed potato’s were fine the potatoes kinda tasted instant, the chili was really good not to strong or salty as well as not to bland I came her for my birthday and got free ice cream as well as 15$ off, the waitress was really nice and attentive. Pretty nice place overall and not bad prices for the portion sizes and what comes with them.

The hut sadly to say has gone downhill for years and is not getting any better. Just brought home a $77 meal for me and my fiance on our 6th anniversary together and it was totally disappointing. I got myself a $25 steak which I don't do at restaurants, and it wasn't seasoned and cooked wrong. ( Ordered medium well and it was almost completely medium) and about 1/4 of it was fat. Had soup, this was bland and watery. We are locals and try and support local businesses, but it will be a long time to come back to the hut and try it again unfortunately. Will go and support other local places that take pride in service and food. The picture is of just how much fat was on my steak. The owner John needs to get over to the hut and start improving food and service.

I went there solely to try their pasty because I read that is was one of the best in Michigan. The size of the pasty was huge in size, but it lacked in flavor. The pasty was certainly good, but I felt like it was bland and lacked any flavor or seasoning. My only other complaint is that the potatoes inside the pasty were cubes, I prefer the potatoes to be chipped. We walked in and order ours to go and it took maybe 10-15 minutes for them to be ready. They had an entire take out menu that you can order from or if you dine there it looked like a fairly large restaurant.
