We are in town camping out for the weekend at the KOA park. A nice little getaway. We dropped the camper and went searching for dinner. We didn't have to travel far. 50's Cafe is less than a mile away. My wife ordered a cheeseburger and fries, I ordered the 3 piece catfish dinner. Just remember, as the sign says on the front entrance, "We are not a fast food restaurant." What other way would you expect your catfish to be prepared other than fresh out the grease. Cheeseburger made with fresh hand pressed ground beef. If you are traveling I-24 heading to Paducah, get off on exit 27, take a break from traveling, and stop by the restaurant. It's located a very short distance from the interstate. Family owned and operated. Thanks for the excellent customer service and experience. Special thanks to Hailey and the cook.

Hot dang was this place good. I'm a huge breakfast food kinda guy, so I was excited to stop by and try this place. I had big Mike's omelette and it certainly did not disappoint. I got the biscuit and gravy, and the hash browns. The bacon was extra, and totally worth it. The waitress was fantastic and made sure everything was good. What really set my experience over the top was when I was paying for my meal, a regular came in and the waitress just rattled off his usual meal. Being from small town Iowa, I really enjoy places that have that small town community feel. I definitely recommend checking them out, and I look good l forward to visiting them again the next time I'm in the area

My husband and I were in town for a few days, staying at a resort for our anniversary. On a whim we decided to go to breakfast and try this place. We love smaller restaurants as they have always proven to be more welcoming. This place did not disappoint. I had the philly cheese steak omelet with loaded hashbrowns and a biscuit and gravy. My husband had the mushroom swiss burger omelet with the same sides. Such huge portions, we took our leftovers back with us and enjoyed another breakfast the next morning. It was delicious! Thank you all for such a welcoming atmosphere. When we come back through town, this will definitely be on our list to stop!

Came in for breakfast and waited over 30 minutes for food to come to the table. Server never came and checked on us and when we received our food it was Luke warm at best (but we didnt want to have to wait another 30 minutes to get "new" food). Server never came back to check on us once food was FINALLY delivered. Upon checking out, the lady asked how the meal was and we informed her that the food was cold and the service was not good. She asked if we would like to speak to a manager and we said yes. Instead of a manager coming up, the server came up and told us how slammed they were and that's why he couldn't provide even decent service and why the food was cold. He then walked away and the manager came storming up to the cashier stand and was very aggressive in his demeanor. He said "Well, you ate the food. You should have told someone and we could have fixed it immediately." We tried to explain we couldn't tell anyone because no one was available, but he kept interrupting and then told us to never come back. He then followed us outside to try and intimidate us as we were voluntarily leaving. DO NOT patronize this establishment. Food is not great, service is abysmal and management is not customer friendly.

UPDATE: Not really sure where it came from that we had a problem with having a male waiter as that was NOT the issue. As we were leaving we were actually complimenting the cashier and the other waiter, but the manager was too worked up to even listen to that. You continue to believe your version of events. Have...

Stopped here on Friday (10/11/19) at about 12:15, based on the reviews. We wandered into the smoking section, but quickly retreated after realizing what that smell was. The place was busy (about 1/2 full) with one waitress / cashier, one cook and one busboy. And one heavily-trafficked toilet for all. We found ourselves a menu to look over (the waitress was busy). Okay for a small town diner - probably better for breakfast than anything else. We decided to not challenge the cook and ordered an omelet and a bowl of chili. We could see the window where the cook puts plates to be delivered, and watched as lunches piled up. The waitress would sometimes stop and look them over, but often left them to go do something else. I watched some plates sit there for as long as 8 - 9 minutes (and no warming lamps overhead). Our order finally appeared at 12:45 (and got delivered fairly promptly), but unfortunately even non-challenging food was disappointing. The cheese in the omelette was not melted, the home fries were greasy and limp, and the chili was chilly in the middle (but hot around the edges). It needed to be stirred and put back in the microwave for another minute or two. Tasted good, though. On the other hand, I can't complain about the price. I guess we did get what we paid for. I have no idea how this place got 4 1/2 stars. But I will definitely be more skeptical of ratings in the future - and next time we are in this part of Kentucky we will definitely...

To start today's adventure in food we stumbled in on this small Cafe. Decor is simple and non-distracting. Place was filled and that is normally a good sign. Our server (Jeremy) was behaving as he was 20 cups of coffee to many. Pushy and slightly rude. Actually hit me with menu in his haste to get it on the table. Not a great start to the experience to say the least. 3 of the dishes I asked about are not actually made in house but frozen and heated up here. Shameful that a dish that takes all of 8 minutes is brought in frozen. Overall, the noise is not conversation friendly, so every table has to speak up only to add to the volume in the dining area. As for the food, presentation is simple, closer to the thrown on a plater.. but then hair was visible on the plate our server Jeremy grabbed the plate and was where, then as my wife went to show him he got all aggressive and threw us out. So can't comment on the food as it wasn't eaten. My wife left first and I overheard as did everyone in the dinin6room him talking disrespectful. I approached him to inform him that this wasn't professional and all the servers surrounded me. And physically moved me away. Now, understand that at no time did I get loud, aggressive or act in any manner threatening. So I was physically assaulted. Should...
