Oliver's Pub — Restaurant in Cambria Township

My wife took me to Oliver's on Saturday for a late lunch because we are always looking for new places to have birthday dinner with our family. The place is inviting and you don't feel awkward when entering thinking it's a bar. I was pleasantly surprised after entering, the vibe is a really nice pub that's inviting and comfortable. The hostess/ bartender was a extremely nice woman who was a joy to speak with. Now let's get to the food, very generous portions of some of the best pub food I have tasted and in my 66 years and I have tasted a lot. We are definitely having my birthday dinner here and will be returning on our own with friends. Colver should be very proud of Oliver's, one would think it's in a scary old coal town but Colver itself surprised us, it's a nice little town. Take 422 and take the Colver road where all the coal trucks go, turn right at the stop sign then another right at the next stop sign and it takes you directly to Oliver's, by the way the roads are all good, surprising for back roads. We will be returning often. Update July, 25 20225. Today we took our birthday group to Oliver's for a late lunch at 2pm. Even though we arrived before they opened they let us in early because it was hot outside and promptly seated us at 2 and took our drink order. Please forgive me if I get his name wrong but Jay was a excellent host and took our orders for what I think is some of the best meals in a 3 county area. This is a new place we discovered in the area we wanted to give a try for something different. The bartender was also our server, which was fine. Shortly after, he took our order and another table (party of 7) his cooks walked out. He was now the only one working. He did an excellent job. The food still came out quickly-considering the circumstances. Same thing for the other table. Started getting busier once the food came, so we did have to wait a bit for refills, but we understood. First time here, and the food was good. The specials sounded great. Got the steak tips over mashed potatoes and noodles, and it's pretty good for a bar. The drink menu was also nice. It looked like they had a full bar, so you could order whatever mix drink you'd like. The only downside was when using the bathroom, there is no toilet stall door, and the main door doesn't lock, so if you gotta go number two, be ready to say hello to new friends.
