We've been here before, so the environment and building is not new to us, although it is indeed very impressive and the high ceiling and atmosphere has always given the place an airy feel, which is good.
One order of the food, however was disappointing. We ordered the maple bacon burger (well-done) and the chicken feta pizza (gluten-free crust). The burger was good, and it was done well (pun intended). The fries that came with it was rather dry and not too hot. The disappointment was with the chicken feta pizza. It was really very dry. The gluten-free crust was not bad, though, dry. But the lack of feta and and the lack of chicken and whatever comes with it make the order rather pale and anemic, and DRY. BUrger was 4.5/5. Chicken pizza was 2.5/5.
In addition, you can perhaps have more help in having more servers. I see many of them trying hard and running around, short on time. We were not told there were "specials" for the evening. We only found out when the specials were recited to the table next to us. The service in general all was good and satisfactory.
Lastly, we do wonder why there were no cost listed for the glasses of wines on the wine menu. It would be far more transparent if there are prices listed for a glass of the choices of wine. I know it is a brewing place (beer), but on the menu, the concept ought to be having prices stated.
Might we return? I'm not against coming back, but we were disappointed.
9/13/24 We did return. This time, the food was very good and moist. My wife ordered her salmon on salad. She really enjoyed it. I had the maple bacon burger. The fries were also fresh and crisply soft, not dry, and not too salty. Service was...
Read moreEmily, our server at the bar, earned the only star I felt this establishment was worth receiving. She was attentive throughout the dining experience and apologetic when our friend didn’t receive her pizza. The facility, itself, is exceptional. I was alarmed when stepping out of the vehicle to hear blaring live music but seating inside at the bar offered enough of a buffer to hear most of the conversation with my friends. The blueberry mojito for $10 was underwhelming, at best, and the rum tasted like bathtub gin. I ordered the sun and soil chicken. The kitchen should’ve left that dish in the dirt. The “Parmesan crusted chicken” was as dry as the orzo was soggy. It all lacked a dynamic flavor profile. This is a $20 dish at any other restaurant but this place must be leveraged to the hilt because they’re charging $30 for such nonsense. My husband got the strawberry fields salad and it looked equally as pitiful but I couldn’t reason with asking to try a bite because the portion was absurdly small for a dinner salad. I’m not even going to get into the pizza my friend never received because the pizza oven is only able to cook two at a time and hers hadn’t arrived by the time the rest of us were finished with our entrees. Note to management, if you are going to require your bartenders to prep limes behind the bar, give them a proper prep surface (cutting board) so they aren’t slicing them on the same counter they’re spilling alcohol all over without cleaning afterwards. Perhaps you can train your bartenders on pours and recipes so that some aren’t eyeballing ozs and over serving guests. That was...
Read more4 star food served in a 2 star establishment
The food is very good, if not slightly over priced. Our waiter Trevor was fantastic and took excellent care of us, being very polite and friendly. If you have ever been to a gun raffle in Northwest Pennsylvania, RBC will be very reminiscent. It is extremely crowded, with way too many tables that are meant to seat 2 people and instead cram 4 people into, making the experience literally elbow to elbow. This is nothing to be said about other parties in the restaurant, as you would literally have to get out of your seat to let someone at a nearby table get up to do to the bathroom. It is that cramped in both dining rooms. Another issue is the rate that the food comes out. Except for the appetizers (pretzel bread sticks) the main courses were staggered over the course of 15 minutes, leaving you to either be rude and eat your course before the others do, or let your food get cold while you wait for everyone else's orders to arrive. Overall I would say the management needs to make big changes before I ever come back: Remove one out of every 3 tables to free up space, and be stricter on the kitchen staff by ensuring that orders come out together. I understand that Friday/Saturday nights are going to be busy. However, with paying premium prices you should receive a premium dining experience, not feel like you're in the coach section of an American...
