My recent experience as an Event Director for a wedding at Boulder Ridge Wedge Wedding Woods in San Jose, CA, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. While the venue itself has a charming atmosphere and a reputation for courteous service, the actions of Venue Manager, Kari, left much to be desired.
Communication breakdowns and a lack of professionalism marred the post-wedding experience. Despite prior agreements regarding cleanup responsibilities, we encountered resistance from venue staff, particularly Kari, during the teardown process. Her dismissive attitude and refusal to acknowledge documented agreements created a HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT for my staff and I, adding unnecessary stress to an already busy day.
Furthermore, issues with staffing and venue faults compounded the frustration. Photo attached. While some staff members, notably Banquet Captain Katherine and the Chef, went above and beyond to assist, others, including the Day Coordinator, Karyn, appeared overwhelmed and unable to meet expectations.
Despite efforts to address concerns and provide evidence of prior agreements, Kari's defensive and confrontational demeanor persisted, ultimately resulting in our late departure from the venue. This not only caused economic damage and distress but also left a lasting impression of poor customer service and lack of professionalism.
As someone with extensive experience in venue management, I had hoped for a more positive experience, especially considering my past positive encounters with Boulder Ridge. However, this recent experience has raised concerns about the level of customer care and quality of service at the venue.
In conclusion, while Boulder Ridge Wedge Wedding Woods may offer a picturesque setting for weddings, improvements in communication, staffing, and customer service are necessary to ensure a positive experience for future clients. On a call with a regional manager, I urged to take these concerns seriously and work towards implementing measures to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
An honest review is the least I can do for future clients who may be working with a set budget, and truly looking to create a long-lasting experience for...
Read moreI love this course. It is challenging and a short drive from my house which makes it easy to play 18 after school sometimes. Kinda sucks that two holes of the back nine are destroyed but its whatever. Yesterday, however, something happened which makes me kind of wondering if they even want me playing there. I have been playing there for over 3 years (no problems) until yesterday, when I walked into the golf lodge to check in for my tee time when I was met with a dirty glare. This kinda body language tipped me off something wasn't gonna go smoothly. I thought it was comical but it gets better. When I said that we were checking in for our tee time, the guy hesitated and said that no one had booked that tee time. When he asked for my name, he said that I had registered for a 7:15 am slot and I had canceled it the previous day. The only thing was that I had booked the tee time earlier that day and received a confirmation email saying that I had booked that exact time. After telling him that, and completely debunking everything he had previously stated, he paused with a loss for words and then told me that the 3:50 tee time was open. It was so screamingly obvious that they didn't want me playing there. Honestly, my friend and I laughed it off but this shouldn't...
Read moreI have been there many times with a member to play golf and to have lunch. The staff couldn't be more polite and helpful. In the parking lot , I was greeted by the golf car attendant. She was so cheerful. Greeted us with a welcoming smile. Once inside the club house , I noticed how clean and how it was beautifully decorated. We had lunch. Rashell , our waitress was so kind and one of the best waitresses I have had. She was punctual with our food. She refilled our glasses with out asking. The presentation of the food was done really well. She was very personable and out going. The veiws of the valley and of the mountains were breathtaking. The grounds are so clean and immaculate. Everything is trimmed and there is not a leaf out of place. The restrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen in a public setting. The restaurant has big windows to look at the gorgeous veiws. On the patio , they have a fireplace where you could sit and have some cocktails. The food prices were very good. Not that pricey. The golf course is very competitive and fun to play. The greens are fast. They have social gatherings for the members and each one is wonderfully done. Over all , I think ( and I play many courses ) it is one of the best course in the...
