My "Golden Brown" hand battered haddock was burnt brown with no flavor. I had to saturate it with Malt Vinegar and Tarter Sauce to actually make it edible.. My wifes chicken wrap was grease soaked to the point the grease was running down her hands but she said it's taste was ok, just way to greasy! The fries were good and the coleslaw was passable however the food is way overpriced for what you receive and for the quality. Our table had a filthy napkin folded and stuffed under a leg to keep the table from wobbling too.
This consumer wont be making a return visit and I can't reccomend Broad Street Diner. I can say this destination is somewhere to avoid unless you want to over pay for poor quality food. The owners should be aware also, that they have completely failed at being a welcoming place for anyone that is handicapped by not being handicapped accessible They may at some point in the future get served a lawsuit for failing to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act.. if that happens it would be a death blow to The Broad Street Diner. If you are handicapped or a family member is access to enter is IMPOSSIBLE as is Access to...
Read moreI'm not really sure what to make of this place. I wanted something local and family-owned for my birthday dinner (June 2018), and after quite a bit of deliberation, I ended up choosing the BroadStreet Diner.
It's a tiny house that's been converted into a tiny restaurant with a tiny parking lot. Decor is homey and charming. Staff were all very friendly. Prices are about average for the area. Menu is fairly large with an array of diner staples: soups, sandwiches, entrees like open-faced turkey with mashed potatoes, etc.
Now, on to the food. After reading all the reviews, I was expecting something absolutely spectacular. The food was fine--maybe even very good--but it just wasn't what other reviews cracked it up to be. As a non-local who moved here from the south, maybe I'm just not used to the local palate.
Will I go back? Probably. All that being said, as far as I can tell, this is one of the better restaurants...
Read moreShhh, no one will know. Sometimes when I’m busy or just not up to making a dinner for 6 or more I’m calling Broadstreet. Even last minute works out as well. As long as you have time to heat up everything then go ahead and order it cold. Look at my pics & you’ll see it’s a home cooked meal already prepared & it is delicious. Not only that, think about how cost effective it can be. I only added some fried potatoes & onions due to a few not wanting mashed potatoes. Less than $10 per person. Absolutely plenty of roast beef for everyone. Unless you have several gravy lovers then maybe order an extra gravy. It was perfectly prepared foods and the entire family loved it. Canfield’s secret chef at my house & when in a pinch or just when I want a day off from cooking…call them & you will be...
