Countryside Deli — Restaurant in Canton Township

The place is a joke. Besides the Boar's Head at at the deli counter. Which is still overpriced. The place is a joke. Everything is frozen besides the chicken which comes in fresh, which even then you're not guaranteed to get fresh. Like I said everything is frozen. The mashed potatoes are instant. The cabbage rolls are Stouffer's and so is the mac and cheese. Whatever vegetable you see also is frozen and not fresh. Everything in the case in the morning is leftovers from the day before, if there was a leftover. It's just put it in the oven and reheated. You guys are paying astronomical prices for food that cause Pennies on the dollar. The place is ran by Dan and Cory DiGiovanni. And I'm not too convinced that the place is a front for something. Take it from someone who has seen the operation from an employee standpoint. They fired me over a lie. A girl getting to work upset that I didn't want to be in a relationship anymore with her. And made up a terrible lie. But what are you...

We went in this place the other day to see about getting a memorial service catered. The guy asked the date, and we told him. He said ok, that’s good because he was booked for quite a while and that was far enough out. We asked for pieces of multiple things to taste and make decisions. We spent about $30 sampling. Most of it was ok, so we took the menu home to plan.

Now we call to place the order and they say sorry, they’re closed on Sundays. Perhaps you could have mentioned that BEFORE we spent money ‘sampling’ for a catering job. I left the state thinking my father’s memorial service was squared away, and now I’m back in Texas back at square one.

Would I recommend them? No. They were rude when my brother tried to place the order and even ruder when my husband called and asked to speak with the manager.

I and my family have always got catering through this establishment. They catered my wedding.

The food has always been a great experience and I have funnled thousands of dollars to this company through recommendations and personal purchases.

That will stop today. The woman who works the register with the blond hair (Sue) may be one of the rudest people I've delt with in the service industry. She disrespected my wife the day before my final decision to never give them another dollar.

Every interaction with her is negative. She is rude, talks down to you and the people she works with.

I love the food and catering provided, it just goes to show how one person can ruin it.

I will actively recommend to my friends and family, who I introduced to Countryside, other establishments.
