I'd been a customer for several years because my wife and son like the pizza and it's not bad. Not an everyday customer, but once or twice a month.
As mentioned other places, Mamma's suffers from a serious lack of consistency in it's food. I'm actually not that picky of a person, so until this week I would just eat the order even if it was poor quality. However, this week I got a meatball hoagie that was so burned that it actually had about a quarter inch of black charcoal on the bun. I've uploaded a picture of the hoagie if you want to take a look and see if I was too picky.
So, I called to have Mamma's send me a new hoagie. Seems simple, but a man, evidently the owner was on the phone and he began immediately shouting that there was nothing wrong with the food and all his customers like it that way. I don't care how his other customers like it and if that's how he served them all why was this the first I've been served this way in over 5 years as a customer? So, the owner is an obvious abusive liar. I may not know the pizza business, but I am a psychiatrist and can spot unbalanced personalities with anger issues a mile away.
We go round a little and he finally agrees to send me a new sandwich. Great! Not! The sandwich he sent me was completely uncooked.
Ok. I get it ha ha ha. This is how this moron thinks is the proper way to run a business? Congratulations!!! You lost a customer!
Food: Inconstant. All canned and frozen. You could make it at home! My wife and son like the pizza, but i think the sauce is far too salty and I don't really care for the cheese.
Service: Drivers always very friendly. I'm sure there are other very friendly folks there as well.
Owner: COMPLETE AND TOTAL IDIOT. Have to rate this place an AVOID due to the owner's poor service and willingness to retaliate against customers who complain about the food even when it's inedible by all...
Read moreIn the mood for some pizza. I'm really big into supporting our local businesses instead of chains. So, I decided to order from Mama Cheez because the reviews were so good. I called in and asked if they delivered to my area and they said yes. I asked for a special and got the price and ordered it. Knock on the door and it was the pizza guy and I paid with a card, gave him a decent tip after realizing my card was charged more than the price that was given to me over the phone but I didn't say a word about it. When my order was given to me, I asked where the other part of my order was. The guy looked at the slip and saw that the part that was missing was on the slip. I told him not to worry and I would just call in. I called in and told them I was missing part of my order and if they can just credit my card. They said they couldn't (not sure why they just couldn't void the original transaction and do it all over.) He said he would credit me for my next order and I said this was my first time ordering and I don't know if i would be ordering again since i haven't tried anything yet and with this experience so far. He said he would bring out the order LATER TONIGHT. I then asked about the different charge on my card and he said it was due to delivery. I even asked if they would deliver to my area and got a price for my order and they just charged my card more.
I know this may be petty. But, what happened to standing behind doing what is right for their mess up or trying to make it right? This was a first...
Read moreThese are the best wings I've ever had, in my entire life, ever. They come in orders of 10 and 20 and are priced accordingly. If you've never ordered from here and think you can handle their hot, trust me, you can't. I get mild and depending on the day, they're too hot. The sauce is homemade and as mentioned some times the measuring is a little off resulting in weaker and stronger versions of "mild". To be clear, I'm not complaining. Their calzones and strombolis are really good and so are their pies. It's a thin crust, but not crunchy. The marinara is quality and their toppings are above par. My only issue is the that the middle of the larger pizzas are a little soggy if you get too many toppings. This is easily remedied by asking them to leave the pie in the oven for a few more minutes. The drivers are quick and courteous and the folks working at the shop are personable and always easy to engage. Don't be put off by the idea that their shop is in a house or in a less than ideal part of town. To put it into perspective, my ex wife used to mail me pints of their sauce while I was deployed to Afghanistan and in Baghdad. That sauce was coveted and I would actually use spoonfuls to trade to my buddies in exchange for taking guard shifts, smokes, ...
