My experience here today (4/11/2023) was fantastic! The building is a clean & bright beautiful white, with black shutters and a bright red door, it grabbed my attention immediately! As I walked in, I was met with such a delightful aroma of SOUL FOOD! The staff there was super friendly and welcomed me in with smiles and excellent service! I ordered the fried chicken white meat meal (breast & wing), with 2 sides (cabbage & yams) & a sweet tea! The chicken was a beautiful golden color & seasoned just right, I love the tiny bit of "heat" in it every juicy bite! The Cabbage was nicely seasoned with hamhock with a taste of fresh cracked black pepper! The yams were not to sweet & had a nice undertone of butter, like a savory baked sweet potato. Come here for a true southern experience In Exceptional cooking! I had the hot dark chicken plate with two sides- fried okra and sweet potato casserole. Y’all that casserole is a freaking dessert! The fried okra was fresh and that chicken y’all- perfectly fried, juicy and the hot sauce is totally homemade and dare I say sweet! It’s a hot/spicy sweet mix that is addictive. We also got the catfish plate with Mac n cheese n mashed potatoes. That Mac n cheese is actually made from scratch. My second favorite thing, besides the hot sauce 😅 was the banana pudding. Hey April, I was trying to find your restaurant on Social Media so I could do a review!!!!! Let me tell you, CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU sweetheart!!!!!! Bc the food was DELECTABLE!!! I’m not a “collard green” type girl, but April, they were to die for… I always thought “Char”, or “Half Shell”, had the best “Sweet mashed casserole”, sorry… yours was top tier!!! So my main entree was the”TURKEY WINGS”, which came with 2, of course I had to save one for the next day because it was more than enough…. the mini cornbread 🤏🏾!! Literally everything was AMAZING!!! I rate everything an 11!!!!!! Congratulations again, I will return!!!
