Heritage at Great Trail — Restaurant in Canton

We have been wanting to try their food since they opened earlier in 2024 and finally had the opportunity. I wish we could have found time sooner. The glowing reviews are well deserved. The presentation, the quality and of course the flavors are spectacular. We were greeted warmly by an extremely young woman, whose name I unfortunately did not get. During our meal she was very informative and hospitable in every way making our experience all the more enjoyable. For starters my wife got the butternut squash bisque and I opted for the butternut squash flatbread. We of course shared plates. The flatbread was delicious with bits of roasted squash, bacon I believe feta cheese, spinach and a balsamic glaze drizzled expertly. The bisque was really something to behold. The texture was just amazing and it had a heat to it that was a perfect complement to the sweetness butternut can have. The entrees were spectacular. I chose the Shallot Encrusted Sea Bass and my wife the Chicken Madeira. The crust on the sea bass is superb. Just perfect. The fish itself was tender and easy to eat with a fork. Plated atop a bed of shaved Brussels and a healthy amount of smoky grits. All excellent on their own but when combined it makes a bite that is outta site. My wife’s chicken was fork tender and the sauce was perfect. The grape tomatoes that accompanied the dish were a welcomed touch. Served atop a sweet potato mash with grilled broccolini it was also a perfect dish and a perfect bite. We ended our culinary experience with two perfect desserts. Her the chocolate, espresso mousse and I the pistachio cake. Both were plated perfectly and both desserts were also light but not light on flavor. I say light because some desserts can be too much at the end of a meal but both of these were just the right touch to finish with. This is one of the areas finest if not thee finest. Each dish is plated like the next. The photos of the food on their site is exactly what you’ll get. The effort it takes to make this happen is remarkable and appreciated. What Gina and Brent have built here is outstanding. We were fortunate that Gina took time to speak with us and it was a pleasure to meet her. She is a high caliber chef and I can’t wait to try more of her cuisine. They are leaving their current location but she assured us it should not take long for them to resurface and for that I am thankful. We recently had the pleasure of dining at Heritage Bistro in Canton, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. After receiving a recommendation from a local shop, we decided to give this charming restaurant a try, and it exceeded all our expectations.

One of the best meals I have had in a long time, the food was excellent, the staff were incredible. I will be back. Likely one of the best restaurants in the Canton area.

Update 1-12-2024

So far we have been to Heritage 4 times, 2 brunch and 2 dinner services. All I can say is that Gina, Brent, and their team are incredible. Their food is impressively crafted and meticulously recreated to match what they advertise. Heritage has consistently exceeded expectations and is by far my favorite restaurant in the canton/northcanton area. I know that they are moving soon, but I will hopefully be enjoying one last meal before they transition to their new space and eagerly await the next chapter.
