Update next day: GM reached out to me and did a superb job to correct the situation. I'm hoping the experience below was a one-off, and I'm going to give this location another shot in the future. Thanks for reaching out to me.
Prior review: I was SUPER excited to find out that there was a checkers on my midnight route in the Cape. I have a tall apparatus on the top of my truck, so I was worried about fitting through the drive-thru. But the lobby was closed at 11:00. I made it through the drive-thru and got some hot delicious food and a great apple pie. I thought that this was going to become a regular stop every night for me, but then, on the second night, I downloaded the app to try to make sure that I didn't have to wait too long because I don't get a lunch break. Even though I ordered 10 minutes ahead of my arrival, I had to wait 10 minutes at the front of the store for them to bring the food out which was then not even warm. This was required because they only serve pickup orders out of one side of the restaurant and my truck won't fit on that side and they refuse to serve me the app order out of the side of the store the truck does fit under which is the normal drive-thru. And even though they told me in the drive-thru lane that they would bring the food out to the front if I backed out of the drive-thru, they left the food sitting there, forgotten until it was cool to the touch and I had to call them on the phone which was another three or four minute wait to get them to pick up the phone then bring it out. Needless to say after all of these problems, I won't be back to this location while working. Because of their not answering the phone, their pickup order logistics, and their slow service even though I use the app, they just lost consistent nightly business from this customer.
Also, this location is out of stupid stuff . . . like the two times I've been there, the one time they didn't have straws. The next time, no spicy chicken. Like, if you're just going to be an underfunded and undersupplied "outpost" of Checkers, then go ahead and close.
PS. I don't need some for-hire PR management firm to tell me to call or write to address the issues. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is fairly new in The Cape. The food is not bad, Iād say on par with other Checkers. My son loves the fries to no end and he wants fries and a milkshake at least once a week (heās 10). The fries ARE good, imho. The burgers arenāt bad but seem a bit small for the price. Good enough for people who donāt like giant burgers. The deals arenāt bad but expect to pay $20+ for 2 people easily.
Iāve only had 2 negative experiences thus far here. The first is trying to use the app coupon/reward where it just didnāt work despite having rewards and being told, āoh we canāt retry it, sorryā. You give them a number or have them scan your phone. The very next time I went it did work.
The second is getting a smaller ālargeā sized milkshake cup and being that told it was the normal size and going there again another time and getting the large cup Iām used to. This upsets me because to me itās akin to theft to give me a smaller cup and tell me itās normal size when itās not but I donāt argue (since I canāt see what goes on in the kitchen!).
If youāve never had their stuff, check it out. The burgers are fried and have a different ātasteā than the other places. The fries are good and there are other foods you can mess with and try (wings, hot dogs, etc). The fish sandwich is big and cheap when they have 2 for $X deals on them and they do have other 2 for $X deals that are great.
All in all, I recommend it for a quick burger and drink fix. I absolutely advise you to get the app. Youāll get random rewards and allot points when you buy food, allowing further rewards and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe cashiers that work here are rude. I was here yesterday to place a very basic order: 2 Checker Burgers and 1 Baconzilla. after getting my food at the drive through window, I realized that they got my order wrong and that I didnāt get my 2 Checker Burgers. I was charged for one and I didnāt get the 2 for $4 deal that I wanted. I figured it was common sense to have the deal applied since I KNOW I asked for two of them. I politely pulled up to the drive through window to tell them that they got my order wrong. The Cashier was being very condescending and rude. She was very adamant about trying to convince me that I ordered my meal wrong, when I KNOW that I ordered it CORRECTLY. Next time, please donāt treat me like Iām stupid and question me when I am the one who ordered it. Especially since the rudeness came out of left field when I was just trying to be polite about the mistake. I ended up getting charged twice for what shouldāve been a 2 for $4 bundle. It was genuinely no big deal, and I wasnāt make a fuss about it or anything. I asked the manager for a refund and they said they couldnāt do anything about it. Customer service here is questionable at best. I understand that customers could be jerks in the food service industry, but I am a regular here and Iāve consistently have had the same rude cashier take my orders. No matter how cordial I am, I still get rudeness from this employee. please train your employees to be more patient and respectful towards customers, specifically the ones that arenāt...
