Let me begin by saying I have been coming here since before I was 21 years old back in the 1970's. Back in the day this place was legit. Today, most of the really cool old relics that used to be nicely displayed on the walls are long gone. Besides the old hancrafted wooden bar the saloon is just not the same. Different owners (How many they are I dunno.) Which one took all the cool stuff? I dunno. There was a time when food, atmosphere and drinks were top notch. Not so much anymore. My last three times were pretty much like I describe here: First the atmosphere. As I said above, it really could be better...it used to be. The reason we came this day a week or so ago was because we wanted to eat outside, which we did. The grass outside was dead. Dandylions growing everwhere...never been mowed all summer long. The stage was a cool addition, but no music. It was dirty, ugly, and just not inviting. What bothers me is that this place could be so much better. I'm afraid it's being managed poorly...and I get that it is open just on weekends. It used to be open 7 days a week. Wth? Ok: My Carbonado Burger was great, actually too much to eat. My wife's Onion Rings were great. I shared some of her Rings as she did my burger. BUT: My wife's Chicken Strips that she ordered were so overcooked they were pretty much 80% unedible. My French Fries were 100% really gross. I took a pix of them but my phone won't allow me to post it. They were obviously deep fried in (way overdue to be changed) dirty oil. Just no excuse for that. A waste of food, time and electricity. I had two Heinekens in a bottle..they were cold. I'd have given a 3 star rating but $40 plus $8 tip is pretty steep for what we got. Not sure why things are the way they are...economy, newer demographics? Old school Carbonado Saloon was about 300% superior. Sad. I only complain about the price because of such low quality food and atmosphere (the backyard esspecially) It could be way better with not too much effort. I'll be back, it's not like I'm saying that I won't...but C'mon management; you can do better. Take a day or two, and do a little yard work and cleaning up back there and maybe some water and weed & feed. Heck, give a local free drinks for a work trade. I guess if you want me to recommend the place anyway. I used to. It's on hold for now.

The bartender let us stay late while our brother was in town. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, come as you are. Pool table, tasty food, jukebox. Good bar when you are passing through to Mount Rainer. Outdoor area is GORGEOUS! I hope they get live music soon, I would drive out for that.

Went on a quiet Sunday afternoon and got the Carbonado burger which is pretty much every topping they have. The burger was great, the fries were fresh, beer was cold and they have good tartar sauce. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area.

Every time I've stopped and found them open our small group has always had an enjoyable and memorable experience. The food is always worth the detour It has an old school down home atmosphere and a great historic feel that seems to help relieve/absorb the city stress we are leaving behind for a while. Sometimes a few of us will sleep in front of a house until morning and drive sober to our campsite. Such a great quiet little town with real human...

Food was fresh and tasty. Fries are hand cut homemade just how I like them, not limp and soggy, but nice and crispy on the outside. Cheeseburger was juicy and bun was soft and fresh. Owner served us and she is very friendly. Drinks were substantial. Like most places they are having some issues with getting supplies but go for the beautiful drive up there and the tasty burgers. You won't be...
