I feel as though 3 stars is kind of me. The food was alright. Sort of what I expect for a roadside place like this. I'll stop again if I'm hungry but won't go out of my way. I would have been happier if the owner/cook was wearing the required head cover while he prepared the food. He had nothing on his head. I didn't like that. The meatloaf was nothing to write home about. The pie was from the grocery store, the coffee was Folgers-like that sat too long on the warming plate. Refill sir? No thanks! Service was... ...the kid had to do too much. He covered the carryout, the phone, the dine-in customers (all 5), while two senior staff sat and rolled flatware in napkins. He really needed a hand but didn't get one. He was very pleasant but needed several reminders from me because he was over-tasked. There is no-way this is a five star place. I don't know why so many people rate it that high. I guess everyone...

Five star service with average food and large portions. Waitress Brenda is great. Awesome service! Clean restaurant. Free WiFi. Food is common diner stuff, family style dining. Big humongous portions at average quality. Better than Denny’s but nothing to rave about, especially at the price. Breakfast is $7.95-$10.95. Honestly expected a bit higher quality food at this price point, omelette was actually a scramble, but it tasted good and the hash browns were done perfectly. Pancakes were quite dark on bottom and syrup was corn syrupy fake stuff. Bathrooms very clean, newer fixtures, and overall a good place to eat. Breakfast served all day. Kids menu and senior options....

On a recent day trip, we stopped at the carlock family restaurant. The place was nicely busy since we stopped during mealtime. It feels good to enter a restaurant and see a good crowd enjoying their food. In addition, the restaurant was very clean. No greasy surfaces, clean restrooms. There were several specials of the day, including ham and beans and fried chicken and spaghetti, which we ordered. The portions were ample, were freshly made and were delicious. Warm fresh baked bread was served before the meal, which was nice to have for our wait. This is certainly a stop to make next time we're on our way...
