Last night, I met my parents and my aunt here. Everyone ordered at the same time. 35-40 minutes later, everyone had their food except me. They were busy, no big deal, I'm pretty easy going. Waitress comes by and I ask if mine is on the way. "Yes, sorry, there is only one cook so he's a little behind." Okay, no big deal. 20 minutes later, waitress lets me know that he actually lost the ticket and never started my burger. Ah, okay, that's really weird. She says they'll comp my meal but it's going to be a while longer, so I tell her I'd like it to go, as everyone else already ate. 20-30 minutes later, she comes back, tells me he never started mine, and there are at least 8 orders ahead of it now, so I might as well cut my losses. What.the.... The waitress was really nice, and I've had to wait at restaurants before, but this is definitely the first time I've waited 1.5 hours and left with 0 food. I left completely empty handed, at about 7:25 PM, just shaking my head. I don't think I'll be going back to Clyde's...
Read moreWas at Clyde's last night (June 2) for dinner and drinks; we had a group of seven. After once waiting 15 minutes for a beer refill from our server - brown hair, glasses, muffin top - I had to go to the bar. On a separate occasion, I ordered a beer as we finished our meal - and never even received it. After. Waiting. 20. Minutes. Did she forget to ring my drink in.......AGAIN? The service SUCKED and our server was NOT even busy. We watched her chatting it up with locals the ENTIRE time! Though it was clear we had long been finished, we had to retrieve the bill from the bar. Let's not forget the stroll to the kitchen window for carryout boxes when it was obvious there were two half-pizzas remaining on the table. We are all friendly and tip well when we come to northern Michigan, however, it will be somewhere other than Clyde's going forward. Maybe we would have gotten better service had we worn jean shorts, flannel shirts, rocked mullets and had graffiti on our arms. Avoid...
Read moreAmazing food and even better service! We are camping at Wilderness State Park in Carp Lake, and googled food nearby. We were slightly skeptical at first glance of the building. The bartender, Mandy, was immediately attentive and was smiling. We had told her it was our first time and she gave us very honest suggestions. She cooked the food herself, and though we got a medium rare burger cooked well done, we were still happy with it! It was delicious. We also requested a soccer game on TV and she changed one of the only two TVs right away. She was also very easy to talk to and wished us all the best, sincerely. It definitely is the highlight of our trip up here from...
