If I recall correctly, Ed's Dog H has been in business around 30+ years. It's clear they've provided what works for their customers. The inside is a bit smaller then some bars yet it works well. It's comfortable, cozy & easier to engage in conversation & meet new people. The customers are frien helpful & fun 2 be around. The bartenders (mostly, if not all, females) are very nice, attentive & they pour well. I started drinking Bloody Mary's again 4 they make them less spicy when I ask & they taste great. Yet if your wanting a blended drink, I do not think they have a blender there 2 make one yet they do have plenty of ice 2 keep it cold. I like my frozen drinks yet I like their environment better so the frozen drinks will need 2 wait. Their Bartenders make you feel comfortable & appreciated. I haven't n.oticed even 1 time any bad attitudes from any of them, not even 1 time. I think that's what I like the best & they always make me feel welcome. It's a bit uncomfortable for women 2 go into a bar alone. Some people assume your there for reasons you are not however I haven't felt that there at all. The Average age range is anywhere around mid 30's t. 70s. Yet at time a few younger or older do join in. At times it's very busy, especially if a Pool Tournament us going on, so the outdoor rear of the bars backyard helps alleviate the crowded areas. There are gambling machines at the bar & 3 or 4 sit down machines not at the bar, a dart board, One pool table inside & one pool table outside which is my favorite area. Outside, behind the bar is a very Large tall fenced off area that I really like. There are more tables & chairs, 2 or 3 covered areas (one that covers the outside pool table & an outdoor bar (not being used yet likely is used with bigger events). I do not know if they use the outdoor area for parties or if they ever have yet it Definitely looks like it has & / or could be used for such. There's plenty of room 2 add a make shift close 2 ballroom size dance floor area yet you'd need 2 bring or make it (if allowed that is). It's a really good place 2 hold a larger party, bbq or even a wedding. Keep in mind though, this is a local country type of bar, it's not the Ritz yet it serves the same purpose which is 2 hopefully help people relax, have a good time, meet others & experience a bit of like minded...

Read moreOne of many local 'dive bars' in Carson City. What sets Ed's Doghouse apart from the rest? A nice, helpful owner and kind staff. Open early on Saturdays so you can watch football. Internet for the customers. And he makes a great Bloody Mary! 5 TVs showing sports with sound on, balanced, so as not to disturb others on a different TV. The one star missing is due to aesthetics and comfort only. Could use a makeover but that's a minor quibble and not different from all the other...
