Went for my wife's birthday dinner. We got jalepeno poppers as an app, she ordered a personal pizza and I ordered prime rib. Poppers were over-cooked(nearly burnt) but we ate them. took 1 bite and Prime rib and au jus and they were cold. Literally cold to the touch, just came out of the fridge. Waitress came over and I mentioned to her they were cold. She asked how I ordered it. . . Not that it matters but Med-Rare. She said thats why, it will be cold and the au jus warms it up. . . Uh what? That doesn't even make sense. Even had I ordered it rare, the Internal temp would be 125 degrees, no way the exterior is cold. She said she can heat it up but it wont be Med-rare when it comes back. Several minutes go by and it gets brought back to me by a different waitress. Now it is actually in cut in 2 pieces and missing some steak, but edges are brown. Obviously been put in a microwave. I took 1 bite of the mashed potatoes and they were cold. Apparently only the steak got nuked. I ate 1 bite of the center of the prime rib thinking I could salvage the non-brown meat and nope. Still cold. Pushed the plate away and of course, never saw a waitress again. We finished and I went up to pay, told her I wasn't paying for the prime rib. She never asked why, but simply said she could give me 10% off. I said no, and a guy sitting at the bar said "take it off the bill, he looks like he needs it". Discovered later that night, that was the owner who said that to me. I paid the remainder of the bill and left. We only live a couple blocks away and have been here many many times. Never an issue, but after this I have no reason to go back. We will gladly take our business elsewhere, and likely out of town. Not 1 time did anyone try to actually rectify an issue, or during checkout ask for feedback or why I wasn't going to pay for it. I never even mentioned the poppers although I should have after that.
Adding additional to Owners response 1/17/22- I have eaten prime rib there many times and it was always good. This night it was not. Temp may have been correct at one point, but not when it came to me. Literally cold to the touch. We have been there many times when it was "extremely busy". It was not this night. The time we were there, there were always empty tables. Never once did they fill up. As I mentioned, I ate 2 bites of it. Waitress never offered a different piece or I would have taken it. Poppers were not just brown, they were burnt which is obvious by taste, not color. All facts of the night are included in my...
Read moreWe had the prime rib on Saturday and it horrible. No taste and Au Ju was not hot and just tasted like dirty water. Other people in our group had other items on menu. For the amount of food you get and quality its like an overpriced McDonald's. We all left most of our food uneaten on our plates. Place has gone downhill fast...as though they don't even care anymore. Server was rude when we complained about the food. A group of 6 of us and none of us will ever be back to this place. Customers be warned....don't waste your money!!
This is in response to the owners response to me. I am appalled on how arrogant you are to think that because you cooked something it could never be wrong or not taste the best. Let me guess we are the only people to EVER complain about your prime rib or any of your food for that matter? Oops guess not since I've read 3 complaints given in the last month. We as paying customers must all be wrong. We as the paying customers that help decide whether you are able to keep your doors open. I have no problem with rising food costs being passed on to the customer, that's not my complaint. My complaint is paying more money for what I would describe is sub quality food and then being to arrogant and prideful to admit that maybe the customer is right. With you it sounds like if the customer complains, they are never right. There are plenty of closed restaurants out there that had arrogant, rude and prideful owners that no longer have customers or a business. I would think about this long and hard before you start acting as though your customers don't matter and their complaints are nothing but a nuisance to you. We don't need to go to McDonald's for a cheap meal but a 1/3 pound cheeseburger for $10+ that is dry and flavorless is a hard thing to swallow. Let along the prime rib we order that is $30 and dull in taste and cold. Yes sir there are plenty of other restaurants, all of which we can readily afford that will better appreciate our business and stand behind their product and be more then happy to make something right if there...
Read moreThis would have been an all-five-star review, except for the french fries and the cheese curds. We had a party of 6 and on a Tuesday evening there was available seating when we arrived for dinner.
Everyone enjoyed their entrees, but the fries did not seem freshly cooked. The cheese curds tasted a bit rubbery (especially the last ones on the tray). I had the pork tenderloin sandwich, and it was prepared exactly as I expected. Crispy outside, moist and tender inside. The pickles and onions (barely enough) were the toppings I wanted and added great flavor.
Bree was an excellent host and was also the waitstaff for the evening. She was upbeat and conversational with all the guests. She even offered a free cheesecake dessert for the birthday boy at the table.
I recommend anyone who might be in the area to stop by for a meal or a...
