We came here right after they opened and didn’t love it, but decided to give it another shot now that they’ve been open a little while. I’m so sorry we did. The restaurant is gorgeous. There is no denying that the atmosphere is fantastic. We decided to sit in the bar area so we could watch some sports while eating. The TVs got turned on but left on some lifetime movies. Fine. The server never acknowledged us. Not once. After 10 minutes we got up and asked to be moved to the restaurant side. The poor waitress was busy but she did a great job. 10/10 for her. The chips and salsa came right away and the chip were great. But the salsa was bland. Real bland. We ordered the calamari and it was mushy. Not a great start. We ordered the posole and it was pretty flavorless. No line to squeeze on it and the toppings were simply onions and red cabbage. It was fine though. I still wouldn’t have judged them on flavorless posole. My son ordered the Arranchero tacos and they were subpar. First, they had guacamole sauce and he hates that. I double checked the menu and it doesn’t state that it has guacamole. Still, not that horrible, we could have asked what they had on them before ordering. I ordered the birria burrito and it was just blah. I LOVE birria. I order it everywhere. I make it several times a month. This was the most flavorless birria I’ve ever had. My husband ordered the birria enchilada with red sauce. And here is where the horror started. The red sauce was brilliant bright red and tasted like plain tomato sauce. And the enchiladas were swimming it. It was like tomato soup with some stuff floating in the middle. So so so bad. We truly wanted to like this place. We loved the location when it was Eva’s. But we will NOT be back. It was $90 and no one at the table liked their food. That has actually never happened to us before. It’s like they are afraid of flavor! So...
Read moreI read the reviews thought we would try while in Casa Grande, so here it is. Building looks amazing, great start. Walk in and no one around to seat greet you. For a saturday afternoon it was wierd to not see any customers or staff. Gentleman walks in from kitchen with young child, no uniform (i assumed was owner since he had the i dress how i want vibe) He sat us and brought out chips and salsa. Not a chip and salsa snob, but kind of am. The chips were store bought tortilla chips even red, green color. Terrible and the salsa was store bought like Pace. So those were not good, but we were hungry from traveling. Server was nice enough and you could tell that she was fed up with the business and may have been side tracked. Meals came and here it is. Chicken soft tacos, Uneatable. Chicken was obviously frozen and reheated. Shredded lettuce and crema was added. Tortillas not heated. I am not sure how you can mess up tacos, but here it is. Terrible tacos. Rice and beans. Here you go. Rice was decent, store bought prior prepared. Beans were out of can, not a huge turn off, but zero authenticity on the items. Ordered the Carne asada breakfast. It was covered in Pace picante sauce, but did have fresh eggs on it. Scale 1-10 I would rate it 2.5. Enchiladas (3) combo. Cheese, Ground beef and Pork. Menu did not show that they are covered in red and green sauce. This should be said as some people do not like both. The green was way to sweet and the red was not close to enchilada sauce. Actually unsure what that sauce was. To watery. Probably the worse enchiladas ever sold is authentic resturaunt. So Great looking building, obviously they do not have chef's and if you are looking for the worst Mexican food you have ever had, i would highly recommend. Now i know why this place had a grand total of 3 tables filled during our visit (place...
Read moreTook my daughter for her 21 birthday, we left very disappointed. To start, we had a reservation for a party of 6, but the table wasn't ready when we arrived ( called ahead to let them know we were running 20 minutes late, and still not ready). Once seated, we waited 15 minutes to even be greeted by a server. By then, we were ready to order not only our drinks but food as well. Being my daughter's 21 birthday, she ordered an alcoholic drink, and she was not carded. So that is a huge red flag 🚩! Put in our orders in then waited another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive for only half of them to arrive. So, had to flag the hostess down for the rest of our drinks (non alcoholic). When our food started to come out, it kept being taken to tables around us, three different times did I see our food trying to be dropped off at other tables, their excuse "we hardly don't use this room". There are only three separate partys seated here (room right behing host stand), and tables are labled. Food finally arrived (not all of it) as we ate and waited for a second parillada that was ordered, I ended up canceling it because we were almost done eating, and it was nowhere in sight. I was told it was coming eventually right before I canceled it. Drinks were hard to get refilled. Our server would walk past without even a glance our way to check up on us. I will say, the worst item that was served to us was the beans in both the "refried/mashed" version and whole. The refried version was disgusting, tasted like dirt, and was grainy. Even the color was off, extremely pale to be authentic beans. The whole beans that came with the only parillada that did arrive tasted straight out of a can. All in all, the establishment really needs to have better service. They should have a sense of urgency, IT WASN'T...
