I’ve read a lot of good reviews about this place. We ordered takeout and wow, not the quality or service described in the reviews. Fries we leftover. These sidewinder fries we soggy and like they had been sitting for a while. We live 3 blocks away and when my wife got here everything was soft and soggy. My order of fries looked and tasted like they had been reheated in the fryer by double frying them. The oil has been needed changed a few days ago cuz the pork tenderloin that I ordered was very dark brown and had the burnt oil taste. I know what that tastes like as I’ve been a cook and chef for years. The lady helping my wife didn’t know anything it seemed cuz she didn’t know how the sidewinders came with cheese. My wife said she didn’t know how to get the cheese dispenser to work. Then my wife saw they had chocolate chip cookies 2 for $3. But no they didn’t have them so my wife got what they had which she didn’t know what kind they were. So we feel they were supposed to be sugar cookies but tasted terrible. Like the lemon juice or extract had gone bad too. Dunno if they are premade or what but no. Anyway my advice is if you’re hungry and want something quick go to Kwik Star. You’ll get better...

There were 6 of us that went on 12/1/2023 and let me list the issues: They ran out of prime rib We ordered onion rings and cheese curds for an appetizer and they were both burnt My grilled chicken sandwich was burnt My sister-in-laws ham steak was burnt My husbands baked potato was over cooked and hard. The waitress was very confused and wouldn’t allow us to place separate orders. My husband and brother-in-law were supposed to have a side salad with their meal but didn’t get it and when asked, the waitress said “oh, I just assumed you would want to go through the salad bar”, which costs extra and doesn’t come with the meal. Best coleslaw ever. Great smash burger and tenderloin. Fries were meh- but isn't that the case sometimes? The Moscow mules were great- had to let the waitress know whiskey wasn't involved in a mule but the bartender knew what they were doing and did it right. The atmosphere was small town Iowa to be sure, lots of older folks having a Friday dinner but the family next to us got to joking. It was enjoyable to be sure and reasonably priced.
