My husband and I came here for lunch. We arrived at 1 PM. We were greeted by a hostess, who sat us in the dining room that was empty. Our server took 10 minutes to come out and greet us and take our drink order. She was personable and friendly, but delivered very poor service; we only ordered appetizers and it still took an hour overall to have lunch because everything came out so slowly. The server said that it wasn’t her fault. We had planned to order lunch but due to the slow service and an unexpected service fee. We decided to just stick to our appetizers and drinks.
We ordered the charcuterie and eight jumbo shrimp cocktail. My husband ordered a margarita and I got the citrus bloom lemonade. The margarita was “mediocre at best.” The citrus bloom lemonade was disgusting. It didn’t taste like fruit or lemonade and it smelled like Hawaiian punch.
The jumbo shrimp was delicious and the charcuterie was disappointing. There was no fresh fruit served. There were three types of salami and three cheeses. There were sunflower seeds, pistachios, dates, dried figs, dried apricots… and it bothers me so much when a runner or server brings me a charcuterie and does not identify the meats and cheeses. The runner did not identify the meat and cheese and the server had to go ask what they were. This restaurant is like any other franchise, but they want to mask it and make it look like an upscale, local, high end restaurant taking business away from real local restaurants and tricking tourists. I went to their about me on their website and all it says is that they opened in 2014 and they try to bring seasonal food and when you click on about me it just takes you to the homepage over and over and over again.
We did not order entrées because I noticed a note at the bottom of the menu that said, “A 2.5% Service Fee is applied to all transactions, which allows us to pay a fair-living wage to our employees during infiationary times, we appreciate your understanding.” The server made “four or five dollars” an hour she wasn’t sure which she assured me that the 2 1/2% does not go to her. So on top of overcharging you for your food, they’re charging you to pay their servers and you have to tip the server. The server said she would take the fee off of our check but did not. When I told a couple waiting to be seated about the fee, they turned around and walked out. I have no problem, eating at a chain restaurant or a non-local restaurant. I do have a problem with a restaurant, pretending to be local, pretending to contribute to their community through their marketing, and outright Lying about paying a fair wage. I definitely do...
Read moreDo not go to The Orchard! Our dinner started out very nice, but a slight glitch turned into the most appalling experience I’ve ever had as a customer anywhere in my entire life. I am a local and my mother was visiting for the weekend. My mom and I both ordered the “1/2 Duck with potatoes and verts.” She prefers the breast/white meat and I prefer the thigh/dark meat, so while 1/2 sounded like a lot, we were looking forward to sharing and leftovers. Unfortunately, what came were two quarters of dark meat (two thighs and legs), so she was disappointed. Most people are aware that half a bird is a breast, wing, thigh and leg. Anyway, my mom rightfully mentioned this to our server to ask if it was just a mix up. A very nice manager, Tiffany, did what she could to make it right. Mom just wanted to know if there was white meat available or just adjust the bill ($10 would have sufficed). As far as we knew, this was all settled. The next thing we know, this tall brunette with tattoos down her arms comes marching from the kitchen to our table and in a very confrontational demeanor, stands over my mom and says, “what seems to be the problem?!” After asking who she was because she didn’t say and a manager had already handled us, my mother VERY POLITELY tried explain. This woman didn’t even let my mother get a sentence out before she argued with my mom in a very aggressive and intimidating tone (standing over my 5’2”, 76 year old mother), saying things like “they serve by the ounce (which doesn’t make any sense when you are talking 1/2 a bird) and that “I’m not going back there and picking through pieces of duck just to get you what you want” and “that’s coming directly from the owner” and I don’t know what else because I was so shocked! My mother finally just told her to go away. It was so embarrassing, harassing and her tone and demeanor were downright abusive. The people sitting around us looked just as shocked as we were. Our server was appalled and kept apologizing, saying that she didn’t know why she was acting like that and didn’t even let her explain either. That’s all we wanted to do was let them know the miscommunication between what is stated on the menu versus what they were serving. Our server ended up taking her meal off the bill, which isn’t even what we were requesting, but at this point it was the right thing to do. We made sure to tip our server very well because she was incredible. I advise anyone to avoid Bar & Table as long as their ownership/management think it is acceptable to treat any customer the way we...
Read moreMy wife and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and had dinner at Orchard Bar and Table. I simply requested on my online reservation "that it was our 10 year anniversary, and anything they could do to make it a little extra special for my wife, I would greatly appreciate it".
We were greeted by the host telling us Happy anniversary. He was extremely pleasant and cheerful. Set us by the fireplace, and turned it on specifically for us.
We then were greeted by our server, who also wished us a Happy anniversary upon greeting us. I unfortunately can not remember her name. I'm so sorry. But she was absolutely fantastic, and even expressed that she also didn't drink alcohol when we explained that we didn't drink, and she quickly pointed us to a non alcoholic section of the menu that was fantastic!! You Rocked!!
Our expo server brought us our appetizers that were wonderful, and also greeted us with a happy anniversary! We're up to 3 if your counting 😁
Our main dishes came out promptly but not too soon to feel rushed. I don't think they have anything bad on the menu whatsoever. I had pork chops. Amazing. And my Bride had the filet with lobster. To die for she said.
The FOH manager came by to check on us. Wished us a very happy anniversary as well, and had a short chat with us. Made us feel right at home. We could tell she ran a tight ship with compassion. All the employees seemed to be genuinely happy and enjoying their evening with the guests. Very refreshing atmosphere.
Our services ended with a desert to go because we were too full to have another bite, but once again our Server surprised us with a small on the house treat, with a little candle in it. And again expressed the restaurants happy anniversary to us.
My wife was beeming with enjoyment and happiness the whole night. And that was 100% due to Orchard Bar and Tables amazing staff. Also not to forget Hats off to the Chefs in the back!! You are excellent at what you do!! Wish we could have thanked you in person. 💪🏼
Do yourself a favor and visit this place with someone you love. You'll walk out happy.
