Went with friends on Wednesday for their Happy Hour. Drinks were nice and served in a timely manner. Share the hot honey cauliflower, which I enjoyed. Ordered the Coco shrimp from the early bird menu, and it was pretty good. One of my companions ordered their signature salmon, and I had a taste...it was delicious. Our evening was spoiled, however, when an under-dressed couple came in with an extremely unpleasant mutt. I was appalled that the restaurant allowed the dog inside, especially considering how poorly trained it was. Because of the barking, we cut our evening short. I do not understand why this restaurant allowed a dog that was so very poorly trained (so, no way was it a service dog) disturb all the other patrons. I probably won't return as the restaurant allowed this unsanitary condition. When I asked our server why they weren't seated outside, the only response was a shrug and a roll of the eyes, so I can only assume the restaurant doesn't care about...
Read more1812 Restaurant is worthy of 100-STARS! We ate on the outside patio and enjoyed the pristine, manicured, retired golf course. The extensive menu provided a vast array of fine-dining options, that were fairly priced accordingly. My sweetheart had the filet mignon, which was tender, juicy and grilled to perfection! The twice baked potato casserole was mesmerizing and magical. ( Yes, I used the words mesmerizing and magical to describe this put-of-this-world potato recipe!) Honestly, the absolute best flavor I’ve ever experienced in any potato dish! 1812 loads their Peach and Blueberry Salad with large bite-size pieces of homemade-candied pecans; which is a nice surprise, as most restaurants sprinkle a few chopped, tiny pieces of nuts. We enjoyed every aspect of 1812! The first thing my sweetheart and I talked about this morning was how wonderful 1812 was last night! This is our new favorite restaurant and is well worth the long drive from our home in...
Read moreJust arrived in town an hour earlier from a 2 day drive from Maine and other restaurants were booked w/ long waits, when my step-mom remembered the 1812! A lifetime ago, I waited tables for a decade in a popular restaurant, and when I saw the scene, I was skeptical! Despite a busy night (Sweetest Day), the owner, Kevin, was able to accommodate our walk in party of 3. He and his staff were calm and professional despite the dinner rush. All of the food was delicious!! French onion soup, lolly-pop lamb chops, bread, salads, lobster tails, perch and steak and filet. Delicious 1812 potatoes and veg of the day- everything perfectly cooked! Vodka martinis w/ blue cheese Olives (recommended by our awesome waitress) andSoCo Manhattan were perfect. The Creme Brûlée for dessert was the cherry on top. Thank you 1812 for topping off a long 2 day drive home from Maine! We look forward to...
