Southern flavor — Restaurant in Cave Spring

I went in thinking it was a bbq joint...had a hankerin for ribs..the waitress said sorry we don't have ribs, and politely told me where to get them...weeeell l do have a taste for home cooking, and l guess this will do, l ask a few questions on the food, and my appetite changed quickly, l looove good fried chicken, and livers as well..both were there for the picking, lol...So...l ordered them both, with a tea and and 2 vegetables, oh boy ,..the chicken livers were tender as they should be..kudos to to cook, the chicken was out of a story book, tender juicy very flavorful, outstanding..the coleslaw was delicious, not watery just right, the mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection, and at the near end , the waitress ask if l wanted some chocolate pudding, she says..with her head in gesture "Its goood" l said sure she brought everyone there a bowl..NO CHARGE! HOW GREAT IS THAT?, It was also lite n fluffy as a great pudding should be. l gave this small town delicacy a 5 star review all across the board, not just for the food.. but when you're there.. you're not just a customer. You're family , l highly recommend it...l will definitely go back my next trip thru, Not for bbq but for what this place has to offer, great service at a most reasonable price and the food brings me back to my childhood at grandma's, eat up,..you won't be...

Well, this place is open constantly. To be honest the interior is shabby and dirty looking, the wait staff is rather inattentive, and the food is bland and barely passable as edible. I'm a little surprised they can pass a health inspection with the way it looks on the inside. It is named southern flavor, but flavor is kind of the one thing lacking in their cuisine. I really wish I could give a better review but since moving to the area over a year ago I've tried the place several times and been severely disappointed every single time with the food, staff, and cleanliness of the place. I guess the best thing they have going for them is that they are open more often than everyone...

By far the best dinner I have ever ate at. Great service, great food, and the price can't be beat. Me a my husband eat there every chance we get. We have never had our order incorrect and have always been fully satisfied with our meal. I highly recommend to anyone who is passing through cavespring. It's so good that just typing this review has made me hungry. Thank you southern flavor for always going...
