I’ve never been the biggest fan. It’s usually average to below average with the majority of customers seemingly to be elderly. But given an ownership change a couple years ago, I was willing to try again. It was the worst it’s ever been. A cook came out from the kitchen when I walked in. I ordered a Coke and she brought me a bottle that was barely cool. No ice cup or straw. I had to ask for it at the counter. No rolls and had to get back up and ask for those at the counter too. They were hard/crunchy. Drink refill? You guessed it, back to the counter you go. lol. Their Facebook page advertised a number of things on the buffet, including chicken and dumplings. I didn’t see them so I asked the cook where they were. She said she didn’t know. I found them in a container beside the potato soup. They tasted like they came straight out of a can. The potato soup was loaded with so much pepper that it was hard to tolerate. The ham was okay and the stuffing was extremely hot/spicy, too much pepper I guess. The salad bar was okay. Fried chicken is offered daily and it’s just basic, average at best. The usual sides of corn and green beans were basic, straight out of a can. Photos online show the mashed potatoes appear to be homemade but I’m not convinced the ones I encountered on the buffet were. The current owners announced they would be allowing their lease on the building to expire and will be moving to a new location in Doran (the old Fannie’s building beside Gas N Go). They need a desperate regroup before reopening. They won’t last long if they continue with the same lackluster food and...
Read moreI'm wondering if we were at Disney or just in Richlands. You can't let young kids run a business. She was at our table 1 time. No drinks all in bottles. The good mom i am I always feed my 2....3 years old first. So they were eating I did make 2 trips for the kids I went to get my food and the chicken was raw I told the girl she got my plate and put in the bus cart pulled the chicken it was taking forever for the chicken so me and my mother said we just pay for the kids and go. I went to pay and told her we didn't eat just the kids. She said I see a stack of plates on the table I told her it was from the kids cause she took my plate I didn't eat. She tried charge me 35.00 for 2 ...3 year olds to eat. Then I was trying to explain she started yelling I told her I'm not paying it. She started having a anxiety fit at the register she finally went got the cook and she took care of it and I still paid 20.00. However she was going to multiple tables talking to customers about the incident which I did not appreciate. Needless to say I hardly eat in Richlands as it is so I think I just drive to Bonanza next time or go to Bristol. I'm done with this place. Never again. Who pays 35.00 for 2 ...3 years olds....this...
Read moreMy family and I ate here after a funeral a couple weeks ago. Some family was from Nashville that had previously eaten here and suggested we should all go eat here after the service. I'm so glad we did. The staff was all very friendly and even the customers (we had 3 small children) was understanding and nice. The buffet is small but delicious and I didn't leave hungry that's for sure. I do wish there was more options because the day we ate there was spaghetti and fried chicken as your entree and several veggies. I don't eat much meat but definitely not on the bone. So I only got to eat spaghetti and the veggies. The dessert options was 2 different kinds of pudding and a strawberry cake. The cake was delicious but again wished you had a few more dessert options. The place is outdated but gives you that old maw and paw country vibes which im use to. Overall I enjoyed eating here and would definitely make this my stop if we was in...
