Cedar Falls Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Cedar Falls

EVERYONE need to eat at Cedar Falls Family Restaurant!  The food was delicious and the service was AMAZING! My son plays hockey and we were visiting Waterloo for a hockey camp. Being in corn cuntry , we really wanted to try fresh Iowa corn on the cobb. After talking to many locals and restaurants, we could not find anywhere that offered cooked corn on the cobb (we were staying in a hotel and had no ability to cook the corn). On our mission to find some corn on the cobb, I called Cedar Falls Family Restaurant. The manager Sara answered, and after a plesent conversation (and asking the locals in the restaurant) it was determined that there was nowhere locally that sold cooked sweet corn. Sara asked how many people were in our party and told me she would personally go to the farm where she gets her sweet corn from and would be happy to cook the corn for us eventhough it was not offered on the restaurants menu. Once we got to the restaurant,  our server Shelly was so friendly and very attentive!  During our dinner Sara (who had gone home for the day),  called in the to make sure we were satisfied with the corn, dinners, and service.  All 3 were above expectations!  If you are near Cedar Falls, do yourself a favor and visit Cedar Falls Family Restaurant for the friendliest people and best food. We will definitely be back on...

The only thing good about this place is the service. It was great. My waitress was very nice and attentive. The woman ringing me up have me a discount. Now to why I still have it 1 star. I was brought a cup of coffee. There was something orange crusted to it right where I about put my mouth. I wrote it off as one of those things that just happens sometimes. Then I went to the bathroom... I stood in front of the urinal and noticed the wall in front of me was bubbling out from water damage. Then I looked around and noticed it was all over the bathroom. There was also mold by the urinal and sink. I sat down and ate my sides, decent. More than likely from a distributor. Then my steak came. I ordered it medium rare and it was definitely well done. Cutting it was a chore as was chewing it. The warriors asked if I wanted to send it back but I don't believe in wasting food so I ate it... Then I took a drink of coffee. There was dark brown stuff stuck to the INSIDE of the cup. I have never left a restaurant feeling like I needed antibiotics...

We waited over a half an hour to place our order, and would have waited longer had we not gotten the attention of another person working there. People who came in after us...who I assume were "regulars" got their orders taken, food brought out and bill brought to the table before we even had food delivered to us. The person that took our order was pleasant, and apologized for the wait. Our food, after we finally were able to order, came out fairly quickly. I was not impressed by the quality of the food. I wasn't expecting a fine dining experience for sure, but I was hoping for food that tasted like something. It was just really bland. My experience was not something I'm going to ever repeat. There are a few other options in town that I usually have great food at. I'll just know to go there instead. It's too bad really. I like to support local businesses, but I honestly wouldn't chose this restaurant even if the meal was free. Maybe they were having an off day, who knows. Try at...
