Great little restaurant on the water in Suwannee! Staff is friendly and the restaurant has a down home feel. We arrived around 2pm, parking was ample. We were seated immediately upon entering. Inside or Outside seating was available. We chose to sit inside by the windows overlooking the water, since we had been outside all day and needed to cool off. Views of the water were amazing. We were seated between two other couples, but still felt like we had room to talk without being overheard. Our waitress was very attentive and brought out our drinks shortly after ordering. She refilled my husbands tea automatically, never letting it get more than half empty. I ordered the Rum Runner, which was tasty and plenty strong enough. For lunch we ordered, onion rings, the low country boil and the captains platter. All were cooked to perfection, just as we had ordered. Very flavorful and large portions. Food was served about 10 minutes after ordering, which gave us enough time to enjoy our drinks and the views. Waitress checked on us a few times during our meal to ensure we were doing good and didn’t need anything. After we got done eating and paid our bill, we decided to take a stroll outside. Deck out back has plenty of seating, outside bar area had multiple games available to play. One in particular, the “Ring & Hook” toss, my arch enemy... It’s shaded over the bar area and umbrellas over the deck. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Great atmosphere. We always enjoy eating here when we come to Suwannee!

Down-home seafood restaurant. Off season, and apparently well-supported by locals. Salt Creek is the only restaurant in Suwanee (FL Gulf Coast); otherwise it's a 20 mile drive to nearby Old Town, FL. Its not Joe Stone Crab in Miami, but it's clean, spacious, impressive outside seating (overlooking canal), with a super-long bar. Service was superb, prices were reasonable and portions are generous. I started with garden salad, which was crisp and refreshing. Having had seafood the previous evening, I opted for the chopped steak w/brown gravy, mushrooms and onions. Served with garlic toast and fries on the side. The chopped steak, not to sound overly flattering, but this was one of the best I've had. Perfectly cooked, tender, juicy and sooo flavorful. Surprisingly great. The gravy, w/mushrooms, and onions were a perfect pairing. Fried were crispy and not oily. Garlic toast was terrific. Simply excellent. My guest had the smoked mullet dip and a bowl of clam chowder. He praised both dishes, asserting each were amongst the best he's ever had. Highly recommended.

First time visiting and it won’t be our last! We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday while working down the road. We asked Becky what we should order, and she said “everything!”, and she wasn’t wrong. I had the Fisherman’s Platter blackened, which came with two shrimp skewers, a crab cake, bay scallops, and a grouper filet. When the plate arrived, I couldn’t believe the generous portion, easily the best value you’ll find in Florida at $29. It also came with two hush puppies and two sides. I chose the okra and cheese grits, both excellent. My husband ordered the fried grouper sandwich and loved it. It was lightly fried, not over-battered, and full of flavor. The views were incredible, right on Salt Creek. There’s an outdoor patio and tiki bar we’ll definitely have to try next time. Becky made us feel like family and truly made our visit special. Our only regret? That it took us this long to visit!

First and most important: i witnessed a server put a bottle of tartar sauce in the sink while she got paper towels to wipe it with. Wiped the bottom of the bottle with paper towel, and then wiped the top WITH THAT SAME TOWEL!! Was grateful I did not order fish.

Came on a Sunday so we knew there would be a wait. After 5 different servers walked by us without once talking to us or looking us in the eye, the hostess finally took our order. An hour later, we were still waiting for our food. People who came in 40 minutes after us got their food within 15 minutes of ordering. We had ordered fried chicken and apple harvest salad. They ordered fried chicken. The hostess walked by and we asked where our food was and it was a miracle. They came right out with it. In the time we waited no one made eye contact, or acknowledged we were even sitting there.

When I went to pay, the waitress who had brought out our food, sighed and shook her head like she was mad she had to take my money, ran the card and slapped it down and said "thanks.". I can understand being busy and the food taking awhile. I do not understand the lack of customer interaction. On a$26.00 ticket, she would have gotten 10.00. I gave her 4 for her personality.

Food was...
